Game Preview: San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors

In breaking news, at least here on PtR, the Spurs will play a game of basketball tonight. Please do not freak out, this wasn't a total shock.

There he is, momma. That man there. He goes!

San Antonio Spurs @ Golden State Warriors

Oracle Arena, Somewhere in the Bay Area of CA
April 15, 2013, 9:30 PM Spurs Time

In other news there's a game tonight and it features the team everyone loves and one nobody cares about. That might be why we didn't get a preview up until 4 hours before tip. But that's neither here nor there and last I checked nobody's counting. Except when they keep score. Oh, and when they keep track of wins and losses. Other than that, it basically doesn't matter. Now, I've completely lost my train of thought and will move on to said basketball game going on tonight.

Spurs play the Warriors in what will likely be a one-sided affair with the Spurs giving nominal effort and the Warriors playing with their hair on fire. An uncomfortable situation, I assure you. The Spurs have, unless my math is wrong, locked up the 2 seed and have little to no chance of passing OKC for the 1 seed and thus will likely just run stupid plays that nobody likes all night in hopes of giving nothing away for the playoff blitzkrieg that's sure to come. (Holy smokes, it's good that I have spell check, I wasn't even close on "blitzkrieg". Crazy German words.)

The Warriors still have a chance to move into the 6th seed as they are currently tied with the Rockets. According to ESPN, Houston has the tie-break. Frankly, I think I'd rather see Golden State in the first roudn than the Rockets if for no other reason than I have the appropriate fear for the beard. Seriously, that thing needs to be groomed. There's no telling what kind of malevolent germs are roosting in that hirsute protrusion. (When I said "seriously" before, I wasn't really being serious.)

A couple of quick notes: Somebody needs to tell Klay Thompson that his named is spelled wrong. Also, this team has Richard Jefferson on it, in case you forgot (I know I did). And he is probably saying: "How do you like me now, Spurs?!". There's no way to be sure, but that's my guess. Mark Jackson should, if he doesn't already, say "Momma! There goes that man!!" to his team at least twice a game. That would probably give them at least 5 more wins a year. Either that or "Hand down. Man down." But definitely one of the two.

On to the lineups as I am guessing they will be, the accuracy hereto can not be guaranteed:

Game Prediction: Warriors by 14 in a stinker. It's called a false sense of accomplishment people, it'll be ok!

As always Tony must dominate Fisher, and NBA league pass is recommended for those who are willing to pony up the cash. Almost every Spurs game will be broadcast there, which is especially helpful for those of us who aren't in the San Antonio area. Please don't post links to illegal game feeds in the game thread. Links to illegal feeds are not permitted on SBNation, but you can probably find them out there on the internets if you're resourceful and desperate.
