Well, this is different. For once I chatted about the Spurs with Phil and we weren't discussing some roadkill opponent in passing but rather actually spent a decent chunk of time on the show discussing their impending game because surely Spurs-Thunder is the top match-up for Wednesday's monster slate of 13 games. We talked about Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, all your favorites really.
I do regret that Tiago Splitter never came up. Mia culpa, mia culpa.
I even picked the Spurs to win, which I hadn't planned on doing 24 hours ago. What can I say, I got the fever!
Lest you think that was the only game we touched on though, you're gravely mistaken. There was also cogent analysis of Knicks-Clippers, Celtics-Grizzlies, Nuggets-Timberwolves, and Warriors-Mavs, and maybe like 15 seconds on Blazers-Suns where I believe my expert commentary was something like "Those guys are playing well," so sign me up, TNT.
Thankfully Zeb from Welcome to Loud City was also on the show, and while I wish him nothing but misery and pain on Wednesday, I can at least give him a pat on the back for his efforts in discussing Wednesday's other, lesser, games featuring other, lesser, teams. As always Phil makes us sound a lot more professional and coherent than we otherwise are and his editing efforts are the only reason I'm at all understandable on the air. He plays back my parts at half-speed, true story.
