The game against the Cavaliers is way out of hand. None of the Big Three have played in ages. So of course it's time for what's evidently an ongoing war among the Spurs on the bench.
To begin with, Manu Ginobili pretends to have a serious discussion with Boris Diaw, who is in street clothes in the first row behind the bench. Manu checks over his shoulder and Tony Parker is doing everything he can to keep from giving away the gag.
Tim Duncan comes to sit down and Manu waits until the last possible second before sliding the cup underneath Tim. Then several things happen at once.
Tim notices the cup as he sits down and immediately gets a "Oh, you got me," look on his face. Tony is so excited that Manu pulled it off that he does a double-handed fist pump as though he just got an bucket-plus-one in the Finals. Tim spazzes out in consternation, does a cross-armed mini-jig, and flops his head to the side as if to say, "Alright, I guess I deserved that."
And Manu doesn't even make eye contact. He just looks back to the court with big ol' smile on his face, and crosses his legs secure in he knowledge that his work is done.
I wonder who will take the next round of the Spurs Paper Cup Bench Battle.
