Free Agency is heating up with teams making moves left and right, while the Spurs and CIA Pop patiently wait for the players they want to fall on their lap. Here's a team-by-team rundown of transactions so far.
Note: This list doesn't include draft picks. You can check those out here. When considering what players are "out" I'm only looking at free agents that have already been signed with another team. When looking at what players are "in" and "re-signed" I'm looking at players that have agreed to contracts and are not restricted free agents. Here's a list of all free agents.
San Antonio Spurs
In: No one yet
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Spurs are taking their sweet time making moves so far. We know Tim Duncan will re-sign; we just don't know for how much and how many years. 2009 second round pick Nando De Colo was in San Antonio for a physical and is a likely addition. Restricted free agents Patrick Mills and Danny Green have not received offers yet and it seems the Spurs are letting the market set their prices. There has been no news regarding unrestricted free agent Boris Diaw, either. The Spurs are reportedly interested in Chris Kaman, Ersan Ilyasova and Rashard Lewis.
Atlanta Hawks
In: Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow, Deshawn Stevenson, Jordan Farmar, Johan Petro.
Out: Marvin Williams, Joe Johnson, Kirk Hinrich
Re-signed: No one yet.
Danny Ferry started his tenure as Hawks GM with a bang by trading good-player-on-an-awful-contract Joe Johnson to the Nets for spare parts and disappointing 2nd overall pick Marvin Williams for Devin Harris. The Hawks are primed for another season of mediocrity, but after that they could make a big splash on free agency.
Boston Celtics
In: Jason Terry
Out: Ray Allen
Re-signed: Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, Jeff Green
The Celtics managed to keep Kevin Garnett and reports indicate that Brandon Bass is resigning as well. Jason Terry (MLE) adds some firepower to a mediocre offense and the Celtics are interested in bringing Greg Stiemsma and Ray Allen back.
Update: Woj reports that Ray Allen has agreed to sign with the Heat.
Update: Jeff Green has agreed to re-sign. The details are not clear yet, but there were rumors of a 4 year, $40 million dollar contract. For Jeff Green. Thank God we had that lockout that was going to keep salaries for mediocre players under control!
Brooklyn Nets
In: Joe Johnson, Mirza Teletovic, Reggie Evans.
Out: DeShawn Stevenson, Anthony Morrow, Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar.
Re-signed: Gerald Wallace, Deron Williams.
The Nets got Wallace and Williams back and added Joe Johnson and Mirza Teletovic. They are reportedly looking to re-sign Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez, which would give them a solid starting line-up and the additions of Evans and Teletovic to the frontcourt and the emergence of second year player Marshon Brooks could make them dangerous in the East. They are interested in Dwight Howard and Ersan Ilyasova.
Charlotte Bobcats
In: Ben Gordon
Out: Corey Maggette
Re-signed: No one yet
The Bobcats exchanged bad contracts with the Pistons in the Maggette for Ben Gordon trade. They have extended qualifying offers to D.J. Augustin and Derrick Brown so they might retain them.
Chicago Bulls
In: Kirk Hinrich
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Bulls are deciding if they'll match the Rockets offer to Omer Asik and are reportedly targeting Kirk Hinrich to man the point until Derrick Rose returns. They have also expressed interest in Courtney Lee.
Update: The Bulls have signed Kirk Hinrich using the tax payer MLE to a 2 year, $6 million contract. Good value for a decent player.
Cleveland Cavaliers
In: No one yet
Out: Semih Erden
Re-signed: Luke Harangody
The Cavs are being patient with their young roster and are not making any rush decisions. Turkish center Semih Erden is returning home. They are considering bringing Alonzo Gee back and Harangody has agreed to come back for his qualifying offer.
Dallas Mavericks
In: No one yet (there's no news if Kidd is leaving on a S&T and what's coming back)
Out: Jason Kidd, Jason Terry
Re-signed: No one yet.
The Mavs couldn't get their man in Deron Williams and are now trying to find the right pieces to put next to their 2005 Big Three of Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion and Vince Carter. Terry and Kidd have joined the Celtics and Knicks, respectively.
Denver Nuggets
In: No one yet
Out: Rudy Fernandez
Re-signed: Andre Miller
The Nuggs have a deep roster and if they manage to re-sign Javale McGee they should be a playoff team next year even if they don't make any other moves. They re-signed Andre Miller while Rudy Fernandez is returning home to play for Real Madrid.
Detroit Pistons
In: Corey Maggette, Kyle Singler, Vyacheslav Kravtsov
Out: Ben Gordon
Re-singed: No one yet
The Pistons just added Andre Drummond through the draft and have a pretty full roster. They are expected to add Singler and they might amnesty Villanueva. Maggette joins a crowded SF spot. I have no idea who Vyacheslav Kravtsov is but he's tall and allegedly can block shots.
Golden State Warriors
In: No one yet
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Warriors added 3 players through the draft and might not make any moves until they can see if Bogut and Curry are healthy. They might bring back restricted free agent Brandon Rush.
Houston Rockets
In: No one yet
Out: Goran Dragic, Kyle Lowry
Re-signed: No one yet
The Rockets failed to land Dwight Howard and are looking to rebuild. They let go both their PGs and trades sending out Kevin Martin and Luis Scola could be in the works. They signed Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin to pretty onerous offer sheets and are waiting to see if the Bulls and Knicks match. They withdrew their qualifying offer to Courtney Lee, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Update: The 20th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Donatas Motiejunas has agreed to join the team. Motiejunas is a PF which makes Scola even more superflous for the rebuliding Rockets.
Indiana Pacers
In: Donatas Motiejunas
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: George Hill
The Pacers are deciding whether to match a max offer sheet from the Blazers on Roy Hibbert and are involved in a lot of rumors but nothing concrete yet. Our boy George Hill got paid: $40 million over 5 years. They are interested in Courtney Lee.
LA Clippers
In: Jamaal Crawford, Lamar Odom
Out: Reggie Evans, Mo Williams, Nick Young
Re-signed: Chauncey Billups
The Clipps traded a small scoring guard, but signed two in Billups and Crawford. Lamar Odom could be waived, saving the team some money or kept for PF depth.
LA Lakers
In: Steve freaking Nash
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Lakers got their shooting PG and then some. Nash is not an ideal fit for the ball-dominant Kobe, but if they put it together they will contend next season. Ramon Sessions won't likely be re-signed and Jordan Hill has become an unrestricted free agent after the Lakers didn't extend him a qualifying offer.
Memphis Grizzlies
In: No one yet
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: Marreese Speights
The Grizzlies are waiting for the market to set the prize on O.J. Mayo and looking at Alex Shved (as ar the Cavs and Wolves) in case he gets an offer they don't want to match. Speights is coming back.
Miami Heat
In: Ray Allen
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
Your NBA champs (that felt wrong) are still celebrating and have not made moves yet. They are interested in Jordan Hill who could fill a need if defensive linchpin Juwan Howard retires and unrestricted free agent Ronnie Turiaf leaves.
Update: Woj reports that Ray Allen has agreed to sign with the Heat.
Milwaukee Bucks
In: No one yet
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: Ersan Ilyasova
The Bucks are attempting to re-sign Ersan Ilyasova, he of the worderful end of the season. Apparently Carlos Delfino is still in their plans as well. They have like a thousand power forwards so they might move someone. Mbah a Moute for Bonner and Joseph? I know it won't happen, just let me dream.
Update: the Bucks have re-signed Ersan Ilyasova to a 5-year, $45 million contract. Who knows if he'll maintaing his production and earn it but for now this seems like an appropriate contract.
Minnesota Timberwolves
In: Chase Budinger, Brandon Roy
Out: Michael Beasley
Re-signed: No one yet
The Wolves got Budinger for their first rounder and are offering Roy $10 million over 2 years. Michael Beasley signed a deal with the Suns and Anthony Randolph and Anthony Tolliver likely won't return. Darko Milicic could be amnestied. They signed Nic Batum to a generous offer sheet that the Blazers will probably match.
New Orleans Hornets
In: Rashard Lewis (now waived), Ryan Anderson
Out: Emeka Okafor, Trevor Ariza, Gustavo Ayon
Re-signed: No one yet
The Hornets are expected to match the Suns' max offer on Eric Gordon. Unrestricted free agents Carl Landry, Chris Kaman and Marco Bellinelli are not likely to return. It's all about the brow in New Orleans, though.
Update: The Hornets have received Ryan Anderson in a sign-and-trade deal with the Orlando Magic for Gustavo Ayon, multiple sources claim. If the reported deal is accurate, the 4 year, $36 million contract is and absolute steal. Anderson, won Most Improved Player, will provide some shooting and floor-spacing for the up-and-coming Hornets.
New York Knicks
In: Jason Kidd, James White(!)
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Knicks signed Jason Kidd to a multi-year deal because they are the Knicks. The details are not clear but they might have sent the Mavs something in return for the privilege in an S&T. Jeremy Lin has signed an offer sheet form the Houston Rockets for $30 million over 4 years which the Knicks are expected to match. Landry Fields however, might be going to the Raptors. They also signed former Spur James White. Somewhere, Sungo is smiling.
OKC Thunder
In: Hasheem Thabeet (yes, this Hasheem Thabeet)
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Thunder are trolling the league with that signing, right? Because if they get Thabeet to produce then Sam Presti is a warlock. Free agents Derek Fisher, Nazr Mohamed and Royal Ivey won't likely be retained.
Orlando Magic
In: Gustavo Ayon
Out: Ryan Anderson
Re-signed: Jameer Nelson, J.J. Redick
New Magic GM Hennigan is delaying the inevitable by not trading Dwight Howard. Restricted free agent Ryan Anderson could be retained while Daniel Orton and the rest of their UFAs are probably goners. Reddick and Nelson will be brought back.
Update: The Magic have sent Ryan Anderson to the Hornets for Gustavo Ayon. This could very well be the first domino to fall before the Magic trade Howard because the move makes little sense otherwise.
Philadelphia 76ers
In: Nick Young
Out: Elton Brand
Re-signed: Lavoy Allen, Spencer Hawes
The Sixers re-signed Allen to a perfectly acceptable contract and then went crazy on Spencer Hawes. Then they Amnestied Elton Brand in order to sign Nick Young. All their unrestricted free agents, including Sixth Man of the Year candidate Lou Williams are probably leaving.
Phoneix Suns
In: Michael Beasley, Goran Dragic
Out: Steve freaking Nash
Re-singed: No one yet
The Suns traded Nash for a few picks to the Lakers. Ugh. They also signed Eric Gordon to a max offer sheet the Hornets will match. Grant Hill is probably gone as is Mike Redd. Hakim Warrick and Robin Lopez could be gone as well. In are inconsistent but talented Goran Dragic and Mike Beasley. Enjoy your erratic additions, Suns fans!
Portlans trail Blazers
In: No one yet
Out: Thabeet, Crawford
Re-signed: No one yet
The Blazers are probably letting all their free agents go, including Raymond Felton and J.J. Hickson. They will likely match on Nic Batum and their offer sheet on Pacers big man Roy Hibbert will likely get matched as well. If the Hibbert deal falls through they'll pursue McGee.
Sacramento Kings
In: No one yet
Out: No one yet
Re-signed: No one yet
The Kings are reportedly interested in Ryan Anderson And Andrei Kirilenko. They are expected to re-sign future All-Star Jason Thompson and let go free agents Donte Greene and Terrence Williams.
Toronto Raptors
In: Kyle Lowry, Jonas Valanciunas
Out: Gary Forbes
Re-signed: Aaron Gray
The Raptors got disgruntled Rockets PG Kyle Lowry for Forbes and a first round pick, That makes the always available Jose Calderon a prime candidate for a trade. Of their free agents, RFA Jerryd Bayless might be re-signed, but everyone else is probably gone. They signed restricted free agent Landry Fields to a generous offer sheet that might be too much for the Knicks to match. Last year's draft pick Jonas Valanciunas is close to signing.
Update: The Raptors have re-signed unrestricted free agent Aaron Gray to a two-year deal, per Woj. I was not expecting it since they have Bargnani, Davis, Johnson and Valanciunas but unless they went overboard, this is a good signing. Gray can rebound the ball and take up space in the middle.
Utah Jazz
In: Marvin Williams, Mo Williams
Out: Devin Harris
Re-signed: Jeremy Evans
The Jazz got a scoring PG that can hit the outside shot to replace Devin Harris who was traded to the Hawks for wing Marvin Williams. That's two needs Ty Corbin's team filled in one week. They also appeared to have re-signed Jeremy Evans (bummer, he would have been a good fit for that price). UFAs Josh Howard and C.J. Miles are probably gone as is disgruntled SG Raja Bell to the delight of Jazz fans everywhere.
Washington Wizards
In: Ariza, Okafor
Out: Rashard Lewis
Re-signed: No one yet
The Wiz traded dead-weight Rashard Lewis for two solid but overpaid role players in Ariza and Okafor. They are expected to bring back Chris Singleton and possibly Cartier Martin and are showing interest in Courtney Lee.
