(SB Nation, Mark Sandritter) Although he was not directly involved, Tony Parker injured his eye when musicians Chris Brown and Drake got in an altercation at a New York city nightclub Thursday.
Parker, who is currently in France preparing to play for the French national team, told reporters he was hit in the eye by glass during the incident.
"I was there with a bunch of friends when a fight broke out. They started to throw bottles about... I got it all," Parker said in a press conference Friday. "The cornea has been touched. I can't do anything for seven days... But I was lucky. The injury won't prevent me from competing the Olympics in any way."
Although the Spurs were eliminated in the Western Conference final, Parker turned in one of the best seasons of his career this season. He averaged 18.3 points and a career-high 7.7 assists while earning second team All-NBA honors.
