Spurs start out an early game in Toronto. Same starters as the previous few games. Spurs offensively getting any look they want. Tim Duncan gets inadvertently kicked in the throat, goes down quick and Spurs call a timeout. After the timeout, Tim continues to play. Tim also made his 2,500th block of his career. Danny Green hits a 3, keeping his streak of now 32 straight games with a made 3 point shot. Spurs let off defensively in the end of the quarter. Raptors got easy looking shots. Raptors led by 1 after 1, 25-24.
Spurs bench starts out in the 2nd: Nando De Colo, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green, Boris Diaw, Tiago Splitter. I'm glad to see Nando get good minutes here. Manu Ginobili having offensive struggle early on in this game, shooting 0-4 FG in 6 minutes. Duncan very effective early on, shooting 12 points 6-9 FG in 15 minutes. Matt Bonner, a citizen of Canada, gets the last minute of play at the 4. Spurs tied at 49.
Not the best offensive start in the second half. Tim Duncan, Danny Green, and Tony Parker all missing consecutive jumpers. DeJuan Blair also missing 2 easy layups. The woes continue to the 8 minute mark with turnovers. The first FG comes thanks to Tim Duncan at the 6:24 mark. Next is a Tony Parker corner 3. Very unconventional, but whatever works. Manu Ginobili turns his game on. He makes a few spectacular plays to bring the Spurs within 1, 69-70.
Patty Mills starts at the PG to start the quarter with Danny Green, Manu Ginobili, Boris Diaw, and Tiago Splitter. Patty with an outstanding effort to get back into a fast break which negated an easy Toronto layup. Matt Bonner getting minutes again -- this time in the first half of the final quarter. Tim Duncan comes in and plays alongside Bonner, which is something we haven't seen this season. A Manu three changes the tide, and also ties the game at 86. The next play, Tim Duncan, "Old Reliable", makes a move on Jonas Valanciunas and gives the Spurs the lead. Valanciunas blocks a shot on one end, and Manu is forced to foul him on the other, with 24 seconds remaining in the game. Spurs play for the last shot, and Tony Parker misses. Toronto will inbound with 0.1 left, so we're likely going to overtime.
Tim Duncan found under the rim for a dunk. This overtime running how typical OT's run, very fast with a lot of missed shots by both teams. Tony Parker stole the inbounds pass and gets a layup, less than a minute remaining. Raptors hit a 3 to respond, bring it to 94-93 and Manu is intentionally fouled (he makes both). Spurs allow a quick 2 from the Raptors, as they had set up to defend the 3 point line, 96-95. Gary Neal intentionally fouled, he makes 1 of 2 shots. Spurs up 97-95 with 13.4 left, Raptors without any more timeouts. DeRozan puts in his own miss and the game is tied with 0.9 left. Spurs couldn't get a shot off, and we're going to 2 OT.
Danny Green makes a 3pt shot to start out the 2nd overtime. He's had a rough day today, 5-12 FG. Tim Duncan had an easy layup but it clanks out. Parker hits a J from the FT line. Tony Parker with 4 consecutive points gets the Spurs the lead 108-104 with under a minute remaining. Tim Duncan is fouled and he makes 2/2 FT's to give the Spurs the lead 110-104 with 22.9 left. Valanciunas makes a shot after Tiago Splitter blocks their first attempt. Tony Parker intentionally fouled with 11 seconds to go, makes 1 of 2. Calderon misses a 3, Spurs rebound and the Raptors concede. Spurs win!
