Currently, at the time of this writing, it is 70° in San Antonio, Texas. At this time of the day when the temperature is that low, you know that autumn is not far away. Yes, I know that fall technically began on the autumnal equinox: September 22 this year. But that has little meaning when the daily high temperature regularly reaches into the high 90s or even the 100s.
This past week has brought a cool front and good amount of rain, a very welcome change in a number of ways. With the worst of the summer having passed, it's quite a bit more pleasant to be out of doors. And with the changing of the seasons also comes the beginning of the end of the off-season for the NBA.
Just as autumn began before it actually did, so can basketball season begin today with the Spurs' media day, if we decide to let it.
And I say "we", since Matthew Tynan, Aaron Preine and myself are all attending the festivities going on at the Spurs' practice facility starting in just an hour or so. Keep coming back all day long as we will be posting updates and stories throughout the afternoon based on all of the fun things we get to witness.
