Game #77 Preview: Suns @ Spurs

And here we are. After all the amazing things the Spurs did at the start of the season, and after building what seemed to be an insurmountable lead on the rest of the league, the Spurs are suddenly vulnerable in the standings, not to mention what they've looked like on the court. So, on the heels of a 6-game losing streak, who do the Spurs get to play? The team that made them look stupid in the playoffs last year. Goody.

On the one hand, the Suns are below .500 for the season. On the other hand, the Spurs don't look certain of beating anybody at the moment. Well, Spurs fans, you and I both know what must be done with this preview. And you should know that it's going to hurt me more that it's going to hurt you. Let's get to it.

I don't have the stomach for any more losing, but that's just too bad, isn't it?

Starters

PG: Parker needs to... hope that Nash is still suffering from "flu-like symptoms", lest he be destroyed like in the playoffs last season.

SG: Dudley's a good role player, but Manu is Manu.

SF: Someone needs to remind RJ that he's a scorer, and be pretty convincing about it.

PF: I'm tempted to give this one to Frye, but Old Man Dice gets the benefit of the doubt here.

C: Timmy hasn't really been himself since coming back from that ankle sprain. Let's hope that changes tonight.

Bench

Just look at all those proven names on the Phoenix bench.

Coaching

Only one of these two is a COY candidate. Although, his candidacy is fading fast.

Intangibles

Neither of these teams can play respectable defense, apparently.

Mojo

No team on a 6-game losing streak will deserve any mojo. So, if there is such a thing, it belongs to Phoenix

Prediction

The Spurs won't solve their issues in the less than 48 hours since the Houston game.

Key to the Game

Don't suck - That was sage advice given by Tim Duncan to Richard Jefferson last season. At this point, I'd say it applies to the team as a whole.

Online

As always, NBA league pass is recommended for those who are willing to pony up the cash. Almost every Spurs game will be broadcast there, which is especially helpful for those of us who aren't in the San Antonio area.

Links to illegal feeds are not permitted on SBNation, but you can probably find them out there on the internets if you're resourceful and desperate.
