I'll let Ron Artest introduce our opponents for this game:
Sadly, Ron's team might make it farther than the Spurs this year.
OK, they might not really be Tru Wariers, but they're close. And they have a winning record(if barely) at home. Are you paying attention, Spurs?
Speaking of our Spurs, how's about we update the playoff scenario: we can finsh no lower than 5th, we're currently at #3 - but by winning out, we might just get home court in the first round. We got REALLY lucky last night against the Kings, but we can't afford another one like that.
Preview after the jump.
Breakdown - Point Guard - Tony gets the edge here because of his consistent great play this season, but he can't fall asleep on Watson(38 points @ Utah on saturday).
- Off Guard - I'd love to give Mace the edge here, but Morrow actually leads the league in 3-point shooting. And, to my knowledge, even Nellie's not dumb enough to use him as a PG.
- Center - If Timmeh really is feeling better out there, this should be easy pickings.
- Power Forward - I'm actually going to give the edge to Matt here. Not because of scoring or rebounding, because Randolph does more of those - but the rookie is turnover-prone. Matt's not.
- Small Forward - Sorry Fin, but you don't even get the edge here. Azubuike usually does well in this matchup.
- Bench - Gooden has the perfect skill set for this game. I'd also like to see some quality minutes for Bowen. The GS bench is depleted by the fact that several of their typical bench players are now starting.
- Coach - Pop, if he doesn't give in to the urge to play smallball when Nellie does.
- Intangibles - Final home game of the season for the Warriors - they'll be fired up.
- Mojo - They have more injury problems than us.
- Winners - It's going to be a fight, but I think we got this.
Keys To The Game - Gooden - Are you on board?
- Take them seriously - Ellis, SJax, Magette, and Brandan Wright are done for the season, with Jamal Crawford day-to-day. The Warriors still managed to win at Utah on Saturday with the scrubs that replaced those guys. We can't just assume we're going to win.
- Timmy - Needs to dominate the inferior GS frontcourt.
Some other reading Golden State of Mind - One of the few SBNation blogs more active than PtR. Definitely worth the mouse-click. 48 Minutes of Hell - recommended reading, as always. There's some good posts about how unbelievable Hairston has been for the Toros lately. Other things of possible interest - Dogos - Would probably love this car.
- Legos - good for making White Jesus, too.
- Metaphors - Kinda what I felt like happened when I find out Manu's season was over. Except that it's set to Pink Floyd.
