Game Thread # 63 -- vs. New Jersey

Did you know I was born in New Jersey? Really. My parents always told me Boonton, but my birth certificate says Morris Plains. At the time my father worked doing chemistry research in some building in the middle of Harlem. Took the train in every day. They moved to San Antonio only months after I was born.

I've never seen New York City.

I remember rooting for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL; it was the only team New Jersey had. I guess they had the Nets then, too, but I already had adopted the Spurs and the Nets were perennial losers anyway.

One of my favorite moments of every year happened today. I was in the grocery store picking up dinner when I was taken aback by an unexpected and quite beautiful site. Girl Scouts cookies... I am surprised by them every year. Maybe they sell them twice a year; I have no idea. I just know it's a rare moment of guiltless happiness in my life. If giving $4 to a kid for a box of thin mints doesn't put a smile on your face then I don't know what to tell you. Other than you're a rotten curmudgeon.

The Spurs will look to push their streak to 12 against the Nets, who got their asses handed to them Friday night in Houston. The Spurs should roll this team's ankle.

The contest standings have been updated. Tonight's lines:

NJ @ SA: SA -11
CLE @ MIL: MIL -1.5

Post away.
