Game Thread # 13 -- vs. Dallas

I am still full from Thanksgiving dinner. I went to the all you can eat buffet at Ray's Boathouse here in Seattle. It's primarily a seafood place but turkey and prime rib were served along with all sorts of fish and oysters and crab. As with most Thanksgivings, I filled up on stuffing and rolls. I can't decide which I love more, though in grad school I would occasionally have rolls for dinner. Seriously. Those Pillsbury flaky ones that come in a tube. My housemate Joe Marlo and I would split a tube of 8.

When Natalie Merchant sang "these are days" I am pretty sure she was talking about getting the majority of your caloric intake from tubed pastries.

The Mavericks have won seven straight games after opening the season with four consecutive losses. Josh Howard has been out since 6 November after he sprained his left ankle. He's officially listed as doubtful, but my SB Nation partner site Mavs Moneyball thinks he will play.

Tonight's game is obviously a big one. A Spur win tonight puts them up 2-0 in the season series, meaning they could not lose the first tie-breaker should the teams end up with the same record at the end of the season. It would also give DAL 3 more division losses and 5 more conference losses (second and third tie-breakers). That would be a huge advantage even this early in the season.

Like everyone else I will be paying close attention to the Bowen/Oberto/Elson vs. Dirk matchup. SA did a great job against him opening night (especially Elson), limiting him to 21 points on 20 FGA and only 2 FTA.

Your contest lines:

Cleveland @ Indiana: IND -2.5
Dallas @ San Antonio: SA -4.5
