Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah

Game 1 of the Rodeo Trip.  Game 1 of what some fans like to think of as the "real regular season."  Game 1 of "when the excuses and justifications become a little harder to swallow."

Re: Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah
I would like to say right now, in this moment of hopelessness, that the San Antonio Spurs will win the 2008 NBA championship. What do I base this prediction on? Nothing but absolute blind faith in my team. Maybe we'll lose in the first round badly and I'll look like a total idiot, or maybe we'll take it all and I'll look like The Flying Spaghetti Monster himself, but hey, it's not like I've got a reputation to maintain. Go Spurs baby!

Re: Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah
Three weeks ago I would totally agree with you.  But I just don't see the passion in the Spurs players at all.  I am afraid their "luck" at coming back after the Rodeo Road Trip and blowing everyone away just might have come to an end.  Our competition this season is far to strong to depend on that mentality.  Mavs, Suns, Jazz, Hornets and even the Warriors are playing like they give a shit and WANT to win.  Spurs are not.

I want the result to be otherwise, but this game is gonna be a took one to win. I hope I'm wrong though.

Even the years when we suck, we're good in the second half.  I honestly believe the whole team just wants it to be the playoffs now so they can repeat and shut up stupid writers.

Of course, I could be wrong...

I mean a tough one to win, not "took" one to win.

If Tony Parker shows up for a change, we might win.  Otherwise, no way.

Re: Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah
to me it doesn't matter if the Spurs win or lose...I want to just see a competitive game from them. See how this team rotates on the pick and rolls, and how they rebound. I also want Pop to start yelling again if someone does something stupid.

Basically I want to see the Spurs start caring more!

Why, you ask? Because Mike Taylor of The Ticket 760 says so! Need I say more?

Re: Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah
I wonder if the call-up of Ian M is an indicator that Pop may be beginning to realize that RH isn't ever going to "round into playoff shape"? I  think he gave up on Cisco ever learning "the system" a long time ago.

Re: Game Thread # 42 -- at Utah
Uugghh!  I don't know if I have the energy to write down my prediction.  I just want to rest and take it easy until Fiesta... is that in April?  You know when it's not so dreary and depressing outside.  Does that coincide with the playoffs?  Hmmmm....
