I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too

It's a called timeout.  It allows you to stop the clock, advance the ball, and maybe get something better than a 1 on 4.

How many good offensive possessions did the Spurs have in the last five minutes?  Why did the Spurs end the game with 3 timeouts when they weren't getting good shots?

Yay Coach Pop!!!1!11!

Well, Manu should have called that TO anyways.  It's not like he's mister strictly do what the coach says at all times anyways.  However, we lose by like 20 w/o manu, so instead let's put the blame squarely where it belongs:
Robert Horry.

I don't know why or how (I depend on smarter men than I), but I'm sure it was his fault.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
What about Lebron with the obvious charge that was not called on the play before?  The NBA refs suck.  I guess the Mob is still running the NBA.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
just all around lame - seriously i don't know what the problem is but one of these years they are going to fall in a hole they can't get out of, and maybe this is the year, i don't know.  but what i do know is its almost trade deadline time and the spurs could be the first team ever to trade their entire roster for 31 2nd round draft picks.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
Coming from a Cavs fan, I think it was the right call.

Even if you set up a play, you don't expect to get a shot better than an open jumper from the free throw line by your hottest shooter.

If they'd called timeout and then missed, you'd blame them for not taking advantage of a good opportunity.

You guys will be fine.

http://www.LeCavs.com If you were good enough, maybe we'd name it after you.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
Well cavs fan we don't want to be fine.  We want to win another title so that we can continue to shove the fact that we're better than everyone else down the rest of the spurs hating/manu bashing world.  That's all.

Also, I think you're right about the call.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
I understand the timeout issue. but really, tony had two free throws and manu had a solid shot. But in actuality, why are we so committed to not being committed during the first half of every game we play. The last game I remember really playing from start to finish was the suns/spurs game at home back in december, which we lost. I understand the whole philosophy of save everyone for the playoffs but at a point you need to build optimism and momentum during the regular season.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
this isnt why the spurs lost, but how many times was lebon allowed to stiff arm bruce bowen with his off hand last night?  i counted 5 in the 4th. bruce took a beating from lebron in the finals as well.

would rather have manu call the time out, but i could have lived with it if he took it all the way to the hole instead of the pull up 15 footer on the run.

our guys flat out suck right now.  amazing that they are still within smelling range of the top spot in the west.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
  1.  Frenchie shouldn't have choked at the line.

  2.  Manu should've called time once he realized it was 1 on 4, and still salvaged 3 seconds on the clock.

  3.  It doesn't matter.
       A.  We finally come together as a team
           somewhere between Rodeo Road
Trip/All Star Weekend. So we have
           plenty of time.
       B.  Brent Barry is back.  Thank GOD!  When
he hit those two 3's late in the game
           I about wet my pants.

Re: I Guess That's Manu's Fault, Too
i am really not as optimistic as everyone else.  Sooner or later these guys will realize they are old, its going to happen.  I thought it was happening last year and they surprised everyone (or mostly everyone) and went all the way which was quite incredible.  anyways i hope they do what we are all expecting them to do and come together on the road trip but i just don't know.

WTF
I don't even recognize this team right now. I watched the closing seconds and I didn't even get mad. They are going through the fucking motions!!!!! A move has to be made this year, it has to. Robert Horry should have done us all a favor and called it quits after last season, they can't cut him can they? If it's possible it needs to happen, like in November. Anytime the Big 3 scores 60+ points, that should be a W, point blank and to lose to a team as shitty as the Cavs like that, WTF. I was banking on the gang waking up soon, that ass-whipping against the Pistons should have done the trick, but if anything the squad is playing worse!!! Damn, I am not even gonna make a prediction for Saturday, but damn it I wanna see some real ball. Hopefully Pop will become more interested as well before the "pivotal" rodeo trip. Hell, he looked like he was at wine tasting convention or something last night. Damn it!!!
