Game Thread # 36 -- vs. Philadelphia
Did you know Manu Ginobili's current TS% of 58.9% is actually lower than the numbers he put up the past three years?
This had to be one of my favorite stories of the year. The Chicago Bulls team voted to suspend Joakim Noah for an additional game (beyond the one game management-levied suspension for mouthing off to a coach or something of the sort) because, as Adrian Griffin says:
And, of course, the Bulls promptly went out and lost by 21 to Atlanta. Hopefully Joakim is now on the "play like ass" page along with everyone else.

If the rest of the Bulls had half the heart of Joakim, they'd be at the top of their division.

You Think Philly Regrets Trading Iverson?
SA: 98
I still don't understand why the 76ers felt it was necessary to deal Allen Iverson. He is still playing at an All-Star level, and Philadelphia still has some productive players in Iguodala and Dalembert. With as wide open as the Eastern Conference is, behind Boston and Detroit, I have to believe that Philly would probably be a playoff team with AI. Hopefully for us, the "Answer"-less 76ers still don't have an answer for the Spurs on the court.

Re: Game Thread # 36 -- vs. Philadelphia
Regarding Ty and Noah, both have actually played rather well in the limited minutes they got. What's truly baffling isn't that they were drafted - it's the lack of effort they've put in their development through this season (and in Ty's case, also last season).
It's not like I just discovered gunpowder by saying this, but the real problems this year have been Deng, Gordon and Hinrich. Deng has has some good games, but he's not playing like the All Star he was supposed to become. Gordon and Hinrich have played like crap, with absolutely no heart.
That said, Wallace is a cancer. He has no real trade value, he's apparently forgot how to rebound, and he just costs too much effing money.
I like the Bulls, so really, it's a painful situation.

Re: Game Thread # 36 -- vs. Philadelphia
I damn near gave the spurs last year after they lost to the Heat on ABC when Wade scored 44 (or something like that) points in the fourth to lead the heat past the spurs. I'm with the above poster, I'm refusing to worry until we're in the playoffs this year.

Re: Game Thread # 36 -- vs. Philadelphia
however, i do remember a post on this very site after the second (or maybe third) game of the season. it predicted that this would be a year very much like the old showtime lakers in a year where they were coming off a championship. it said that the spurs and pop would try to turn it off and on at their will and that it might be maddening at times (i'm paraphrasing of course). it didnt look much like that for the first 20 games, but it might be looking like that at this very moment.
i know that we have been hurt and all too and that is a factor. i have no idea how gino will get thru the year with that chunk of plastic on his hand.
my main concern about the season right now is getting a high seed in the play-offs. i think it will be easier to come from the #1 spot so that we only have to face one of the mavs/suns, instead of both. maybe it wont work out that way, but i still want to rack up all the wins we can get.
i do feel like these poor showings will get ironed out in time, but i'm just pissing and moaning about it right now. maybe the next few games against crap teams will make us look better and i'll drink a big steaming cup of happy.

Re: Game Thread # 36 -- vs. Philadelphia
You don't have to slam dunk every shot and gyrate around like your king of the world like "No rings" Garnett does. But, with that said, you do have to show your manhood in every game. Jordan, Bird, Magic, Moses, all the big studs brought the A game all the time. They didn't treat every game and every slam like a world championship like fuck sticks Garnett, but they made a lot of tough games easy by intimidating their opponets physically and pyschologicaly. Pops philosophy of setting things on cruize control, throwing out odd ass combinations of players, not calling time outs, not getting on his team at all (save for the Red Rocket who he ripped into last game and de-motivated him into a pathetic second half) and sitting there like a pompus Phil Jackson is jack ass level coaching. What is his job now, to simply roll the balls out? Lets just say we don't exactly have Red Aurebach for a coach. Pop, earn your paycheck you fucking wino.
