I Still Owe You for the Hole in the Floor

The blue-panted misfit is not long for this world; the blog is getting a new, paid-for logo.  After its completions I will work on getting shirts printed up.  Nonsensical, befuddled-look-inducing-shirts with quotes such as "A more foolish man would point out that maybe White helped too soon.  I would tell that man not to speak about things he could not possibly understand.  After shivving him, of course."

I have been in Austin for a month now and still have yet to get around to setting up cable / internet.  This is mainly due to some neighbor named Blair who has a wicked-fast and unprotected wireless internet connection.  I have a (related) question for Austin Spurs fans:  how many Spurs games are on local television?  Is League Pass necessary?

Fox Sports in Austin picks up almost every (if not every) non-TNT, ABC or ESPN Spurs game (you get the local broadcast with Sean Elliot). When a game wasn't on any of those channels, I could usually find it on one of the random local channels instead.

I'm not sure that league pass is necessary, and, even if you got it, Spurs games could be blacked out.

Re: I Still Owe You for the Hole in the Floor
Fox sports will show spurs games in austin and the local WB (or whatever the hell it is now) will pick up a game every now and then when they aren't busy rerunning the gilmore girls.  Of course there are also the national broadcasts, but we all know how much the national media love the Spurs.  So if you gotta watch 'em all, get league pass.  I remember a few times when I got settled down for a game only to find the local affiliate pre-empted the game for some awful teeny bopper crap.

And thanks for that picture.  First day of classes and I just lost my breakfast.  Most important meal of the day ya know.

they pretty much answered your question.  you'll get a lot of games, between national, fox sports southwest, and a couple of local stations.  you won't get them all, however.

whereabouts austin have you located?

Re: I Still Owe You for the Hole in the Floor
There were no more than 3-5 games the entire year that I wanted to watch that were not available; mostly it was colossal contests like Spurs at Portland or Memphis that were not televised, though we were treated to the horrendous home loss to Charlotte. I'd guess that around half of the Spurs games were televised in Austin this year, mostly on Fox Sports Net Southwest, with a few on the WB and the assorted national broadcasts.

However, one of the best things about Austin for Spurs fans is that you can just hop in the car and be at the SBC Center 1 1/2 hours later, when you've just got to have that Spurs fix. They often have trouble selling out midweek, so you can get tix in the upper deck for practically nothing.

Have you thought about organizing Austin-area PTR watch parties come playoff time?

What about PTR AIM chats for some of the games during the regular season/playoffs? It'd be a way for us all to bond...or some BS like that. I 'unno.
