The official word from Jeff McDonald at the Express-News:

He has a bruised right knee and sprained right ankle...  The Spurs will await the results of a Monday MRI before breathing a full sigh of relief, but team doctors say there doesn't appear to be ligament damage to the knee.

When it comes to ligaments, I trust MRIs over doctors, especially when the injury looks like this:

"Oh no."

There is about a 0.1% chance Timmeh plays against Dallas.  We all know how Pop likes to tweak opposing teams by holding out key players in big regular season games.  Given that, this is an absolute no-brainer.

The Spurs were obviously skittish for the first couple minutes after Duncan being helped off the court.  But they played well enough to never leave any doubt as to who was going to win this game.  Parker continued his brilliant play, going for 27 points and 8 dimes with only 4 missed FGA and 1 TO (<stampler>he also traveled in the lane twice without getting it called</stampler>).

San Antonio defended the pick and roll well all night, with Elson and Oberto popping out to slow down the ball carrier repeatedly.  Brent Barry continued to thoroughly outplay Michael Finley and Jacque Vaughn had 10 points so I feel obligated to begrudgingly admit that he wasn't craptacular tonight.

Tonight marked the season debut of Robert Horry.  I am going to do my best to limit my mocking of the man.  I have no idea what personal problems he's been going through, and it would be mean-spirited of me to joke about his time off.  The first thing I noticed was that he changed his number to 25 (which he wore with the Rockets).  He used to be 5 which is now worn by Udoka.  The second thing I noticed?  He had a couple of blocked shots and looked like the same player from last year.

Re: Waiting to Exhale
I seriously thought his season was over when I saw the replay.  It didn't look good over the live feed, and the replay was far worse.  I've seen knees do that before, and it's usually not good.  However, there is always the exception... the first who comes to mind is Randall Cunningham, who must have had double-jointed knees, cause that shit happened to him every Sunday.

Also, I don't know exactly what the story with RoHo is, but I've heard it's something to do with his kids, and it's the kind of shit that got Derek Fisher canonized last playoffs.  I'm keeping my mouth shut about that stuff too.

chaos... panic... pandemonium... my work here is done.

Re: Waiting to Exhale
Vaugh also had two completely unnecessary turnovers, one when he drove hard to the basket as if he thought himself Tony reloaded. Bah.

About Horry, it's her daughter. Apparently she's got a congenital disease that impaired her development somehow. She can't talk or move, IIRC. Pretty sad story. When Horry played in LA she stayed in Houston with her mother.

I don't know what changed or happened during the Summer that he had to take a few months off.

He looked slow tonight, but it's like preseason for him, so whatever. Let's give him some breathing space.

Re: Waiting to Exhale
Nice writeup Mr. Matthew!  Good to see you active again :)

Thank God Duncan appears ok.  My heart almost stopped.

LMAO at your stampler blast. He's a Rockettes fan AND a Parker hatah. Are we sure he's not a terra-ist :P

Re: Waiting to Exhale
weird that nothing was said or written about Manu's thumb. It appeared to be iced when he sat on the bench and his shot was obviously off (although occasionaly that happens whether the thumb is hurt or not). I guess no news is good news. Let's hope for the best with TD.

Re: Waiting to Exhale
I am a big fan of Duncan, I got to know this bad news at: http://www.sportsline.com/nba/players/playerpage/6552 , He is always amazing. He's never one to pound on his chest or argue with the refs, but he is always the one to throw the extra pass to the open guy on the perimeter, or the one to grab his own rebound and get his two points. He's really admirable. I found a T-shirt of Duncan, I have decided to buy it, then I will wear it to watch the game next time. Here is the T-shirt I found: http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=71459 , I hope Duncan will recover as soon as possible.

Beware the wrath of the Golden God
He's never one to pound on his chest or argue with the refs...

... unless you count that little tiff with Joey Crawford.  Word is that Tim is still refusing to let Joey play an anthropomorphic celery stalk in his next HEB commercial... this despite the drunken, crying messages Crawford has been leaving on his voicemail begging for forgiveness.  It's a bit sad, really, but if you cross Tim but once, you can expect to be left out in the cold for a long, long time... with none to blame but yourself.

chaos... panic... pandemonium... my work here is done.
