Saturday Afternoon Browsing

Can't get enough of NBA blogs?  Well, here's a complete list of season previews put together by Jeff over at CelticsBlog.com.

Tom Ziller is the editor of fellow SportsBlogs Nation site SactownRoyalty.com.  He wrote a very entertaining preview of the Southwest Division.  Check it out.

Henry Abbott of ESPN's True Hoop put together some short blogger previews for ESPN.com.  Unfortunately I was a little lax on checking my email and missed the deadline.  We were instructed to answer, in a 100 words or less, "If you got some QT with your GM, what would you want to know?"  Here's my response:

The polite thing would be to relive R.C. Buford's glory days and ask him about snagging Parker and Ginobili preposterously late in their respective drafts.  Screw that.  I'd rip him for trading Jackie Butler and Luis Scola for a second round pick and cash.  And why to Houston, R.C.?  You realize they're in the same division and sort of already good, right?  McGrady, Ming... ringing any bells here?  And how could you cut James White?  The man can go between the legs from the free throw line!  Jacque Vaughn can't even touch the freaking rim and he gets two years?

Nothing that hasn't been written in this space countless times...

Have a great rest of the weekend everybody.  I slept until noon today and now I'm off to watch The Darjeeling Limited followed by football and bar-b-q at a friend's house.  Today fucking rules.

Lastly, PtR member krukow had the best prediction for game 3.  He guessed 95 - 83 and the final score was 96-80.

it was the ian mahinmi show for about 3-4 possessions in the last 5 minutes of the game friday.  i thought this would turn up as a PtR headline for sure.

Re: Saturday Afternoon Browsing
Weirdest thing happened to me when the Spurs played the Kings. Ok, so a day before the game I went through my usual ritual of checking every single sports channel with the faint hope that one of them will show the game, all of this because I can't afford NBA League Pass and live in LA. So I find that they're showing it on channel 656, a channel I know I don't have. I check it, and surely, it says, Channel Not Purchased, so then I give up and resign myself to seeing but short highlights on ESPN. Next day, I wake up like at 4:30 pm, since I stayed up way too late playing video games, and when it gets to game time, I'm just checking the score on ESPN, and then I think, why not try again, just for the hell of it, I put channel 656, and lo an behold, the game is there and I can see it. No idea why that happened, first, I never had that channel, second, is a Comcast channel and I have DirectTv, and third, and weirdest of all, next day I check the channel again and it says Channel Not Purchased, that was weird as hell. Like if God himself used His powers of unblocking channels to grant me a miracle. It was great though, seeing the game, I will have a story to tell my grandchildren in the future, when we are ruled by robots and the NBA is banned as a filthy human sport.

I was about to tell you your story sucked until I got to that last sentence.  I'll always be a fan of non-sequiturs.

chaos... panic... pandemonium... my work here is done.
