Good hair helps with playing for Spurs, yes? Or perhaps I sparkle?
It's that time again. Time to remember that basketball still goes on without the NBA. Come on in for your weekly Euro-ball update.

Weekly European Basketball Update - 11/14/11
So, I had hoped not to have to do these updates every week in lieu of actual Spurs basketball. Obviously, we're not going to have Spurs basketball back anytime soon, and it may be very, very different when it does come back(another post for another time). In the meantime, we'll keep covering each week's Eurolepean hoops action. Because it's basketball, and we need our darn fix.
Come on in for your weekly update.
Euroleague Week 4: When to Catch Games this Week
NBA? What NBA?
There's more Euroleague action this week, and if you've got some free time during the day, you can catch the games online starting on Wednesday. Hit the jump for more details.

So, is everyone in need of a good hoops fix after recent non-events in the NBA? That's what I thought. Come on in for some Euroleague action.
Update: added week 3 results for Milan, Barcelona, Ulker, and Panathinaikos vs. Zalgiris games.
PtR's Non-NBA Basketball Preview, Part 2: European Season Preview
International Updates just got a lot more beast-ly.
As the NBA lockout wears on, and the 2011-12 season is threatened, it's time to talk about some more alternatives. Now that the summer's big international competitions are over, we'll turn our attention to the next-best-thing to NBA hoops: European basketball. This year's crop of Spurs-related players overseas is quite large, but not all of them are playing in the big leagues. Follow me into the beyond for some updates on where everyone is playing.

Eurobasket 2011 Final - France vs. Spain
Tony and Nando will try to lead France to an unprecedented European Championship today.
Image via SpursTalk
The winner of Eurobasket 2011 will be decided today. On one side, there's the French team, including Tony Parker, Nando De Colo, Nicolas Batum, Joakim Noah, and some others that play high-level European basketball professionally. On the other side will be heavy favorites Spain, including the Gasol brothers, Serge Ibaka, Ricky Rubio, Jose Calderon, Juan Carlos Navarro, and... well, I think you get the idea. This may be the first time that so much NBA talent has met in the final of a European championship, so it bears watching.
This game is LIVE right now. Watch here or follow the box score here.
Eurobasket 2011 Semifinal - France vs. Russia LIVE
After watching one Spurs guard help his country win their FIBA competition last week, it's time to see if Tony Parker can lead France to an olympic berth, which is on the line today against Russia. This isn't the Eurobasket final, but the stakes are still high. Spurs draft pick Nando De Colo also had a great game yesterday, so let's hope he continues his strong play, since you can never have too many good prospects.
The game should be live right now on ESPN3.com(if you're not behind a work firewall like me) - check it out.
If you don't have access to ESPN3, there's a live box score here.
PtR's Non-NBA Basketball Preview, Part 1
So, the rich guys of the NBA ownership group and NBA Players Association are fighting over how much smaller the players' piece of the pie should be in the new collective bargaining agreement, and finally set up their first bargaining session. However, the owners have indicated a regression to the terms they originally sought before negotiations began, now that the league is officially locked out, and the players have probably followed suit. Because going backwards in your negotiations totally makes sense. In other words, we're all in for a longer-than-normal offseason. In addition, the Las Vegas Summer League won't be played at all(in fact, the normal dates for it have already passed). Makes for a boring, basketball-less summer - and maybe fall - at PtR, right?
Wrong!
There's plenty of competitive basketball happening this summer and fall. You just have to know where to find it.
