Game thread # 77 -- at Portland
The Spurs have lost the tiebreaker with the Hornets (due to conference record), and there's little chance of catching them given we're two games back in the loss column and they have three gimmes left on the schedule (@MIN, @SAC, vs. LAC).
The Spurs play the Blazers today, a team led by the media darling Brandon Roy. He's a classic example of a guy that gets extra credit for being nice to everybody. His TS% is 39th amongst SGs.

Game Thread # 56 -- vs. Dallas
I'm looking forward to this game for the following reasons:
- It's on TNT. This means people in Austin will actually be able to watch the game!
- It's on TNT. This means we'll get to hear Charles Barkley talk about Manu Ginobili. Speaking of, even though it's years old, I had never seen this clip until recently. Magic's bit at the end is my favorite:
- It's a big game against a team easy to dislike. We're 1 game up on the Mavs and the season series is tied 1-1.
- Jason Kidd vs. Tony Parker. Tony should shred him despite Kidd being extra-motivated given Tony's comments on the trade:
"No disrespect to Jason Kidd, but he sucks balls."
5. Manu Ginobili on national television. Here's his chance to unveil his true eroticism to the world. I'm betting he plays the game in a negligee.
In celebration of this momentous occasion I will be live blogging the game. Which just means I'll be watching live and posting a bunch of comments (in this here thread). Feel free to join in everybody. You too, stampler!

Garnett and Parker are out. Suck. I have to work 11-7:30. Double suck.
My schedule is absolutely ridiculous for the next couple months, so even if I wanted to write a recap I doubt I would have the time. As for stampler, I'm not sure what's up with him. Hell, I don't pay the man. I just presume he's busy livin'.
So it's time for you to write the recap. Claim your game in the comments. Pick two if you want. Write it up in the diaries and I'll move it over to the main page. I truly do enjoy reading the thoughts of PtR members. Except when they disagree with mine.

Game Thread # 44 -- @ Phoenix
Stoudemire is a done deal. How do I feel about this deal? According to basketballreference.com, the most statistically similar player to Damon in the history of the NBA is...
Nick Van Exel.
They are/were both 34 when playing for the Spurs. They both shot under 40% from the field each of the three seasons before joining the Spurs. They both think/thought they are/were much better offensive players than their play suggests. Both are injury prone and neither can play defense. They are both 35.8% career 3P shooters. Both smell like beef and cheese.
Fucking yay.

Game 1 of the Rodeo Trip. Game 1 of what some fans like to think of as the "real regular season." Game 1 of "when the excuses and justifications become a little harder to swallow."
