Rodeo Road Trip Poll

Get your predictions in for this year's Rodeo Road Trip record. I'll start things off with a fearless 9-0 forecast. Huge prizes for the winners! And the losers! Even for Mavs fans! OK, that last part was a lie. I'm just trying to hit PTR's 75 word minimum. What's that you say? Use my 75 words to explain my 9-0 prediction? Oh, good idea. I believe Pop fundamentally altered the fabric of the space-time continuum when he kept the the reserves in vs. Dallas. The rest of the league hasn't noticed yet, but the Spurs are now invincible.

Now as we all know, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is pretty much the greatest TV show ever made. As I had have watched this epic series, I started to notice similarities between the ponies and our Spurs. Just see for yourself.

Joe deLarios Advanced Box Score: NOH@SAS *Now with Analysis!

The Spurs and Hornets dueled it out early with a lot of lead changes between the two. The fourth quarter they opened up a barrage of domination led by Tony Parker and Tiago Splitter. That barrage of course would not have been possible if not for the steady hand of Tim Duncan. The Spurs were anchored by the old chief, Tim Duncan, for the first three quarters. Tim had another great performance on both sides of the court.

Top Contributors

1. Tim Duncan – 1.08 CPM / 19 Points on 6-8 Shooting, 9 Rebounds, 7/7 Free Throws, 2 Steals, 1 Assist, and 1 Blocked Shot, 1 Turn Over, 2 Fouls in 22 Minutes of Play

2. Tiago Splitter - .64 CPM / 16 Points on 7-9 Shooting, 2/3 Free Throws, 7 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Blocked Shot, 1 Turn Over, 3 Fouls in 28 Minutes of Play

3. Tony Parker - .55 CPM / 18 Points on 8-15 Shooting, 2/3 Free Throws, 5 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 4 Turn Overs and 1 Foul in 34 Minutes of Play

Bottom Contributors

1. Matt Bonner - .08 CPM / 6 Points on 2-10 Shooting, 2 Rebounds, 1/1 Free Throws, 0 Assists, 0 Blocked Shots, 0 Steals, 0 Turn Overs, 1 Foul in 23 Minutes of Play

2. DeJuan Blair - .15 CPM / 3 Points on 1-6 Shooting, 1/2 Free Throws, 6 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 0 Blocked Shots, 0 Steals, 1 Turn Over, 2 Fouls in 18.5 Minutes of Play

3. Gary Neal - .21 CPM / 7 Points on 3-9 Shooting, 0 Free Throws, 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 0 Blocked Shots, 0 Turn Overs, 4 Fouls in 29 Minutes of Play

Joe deLarios Advanced Box Score HOU@SAS

Those Houston jump shots were scary in the first half but the law of averages caught up with them in the second half.

Top 3 Contributors

3. Tony Parker - .53 CPM Tony had a great game which culminated in the 4th. He finished the game with 24 points on 8-16 shooting, 7-8 free throws, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, to go with 2 Turnovers and 4 Fouls.

2. Tiago Splitter -.57 CPM he only played 17 minutes but he was very efficient in that time going for 6 points on 3-4 shooting, 4 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Steal to go with 1 Foul and 1 Turnover.

1. Tim Duncan - .86 CPM someone woke up the Dragon last night...He was asleep the 1st Quarter, was waking up the 2nd and then decided to roast the Rockets in the 3rd with 16 Points on 7 -9 shooting, 5 Rebounds and 2-4 Free Throws.

Bottom 3 Contributors

3. Richard Jefferson - .2 CPM in over 20 minutes of play RJ had 6 Points and 1 Assist. Compare that to Tiago who came in with 17 minutes of play and had 6 Points, 3 Assists, 4 Rebounds and 1 Steal.

2. DeJuan Blair - .19 CPM Although Blair's CPM is low, I will say that by watching the game, I know that the CPM nor the Box Score does him justice. He completely took Scola out of the game. Scola ended up with a -.07 CPM. I need to figure some way of showing defense...perhaps a differential in positions of CPM? not sure...

1. Kawhi Leonard - .17 CPM not only did he get his lunch money taken by Kevin Martin but he was also terribly inefficient while on the floor. He went 1-5 shooting and ended up with 3 points in a little over 8 minutes of play.

Why are you a Spurs fan?

i am a Spurs fan because of David Robinson, hands down. When I was in junior high I would skip going to watch our local high school basketball games so I could watch The Admiral an Hakeem the Dream fight it our on TBS or TNT, I don't remember which it was. It seemed like the whole game revolved around those two, or when they played the Nuggets and Dikembe was still there. It seems likes basketball has changed from a big mans game to a point guards game. Anyway I digress, I love the Spurs because David Robinson was my hero and he passed the torch to Tim Duncan, and now TD is old and our chances to win another title are pretty slim, I believe that this may be their last year to be competitive. (at least for a little while). I'm from Kansas and I want you to know there are people who care about the Spurs, I love them to death, almost the same as I love My Royals and Chiefs,... and oh shit, my daughter.....ooops.......thats why I love the Spurs, why do you?

An extremely lazy statistical review of the Spurs

I have an awful work ethic. Instead of waking up and writing an insightful, thought provoking piece on the Spurs, I've decided to compile a list of statistics (per Hoop Data) that cover one third of the entire season (13-9) and open up this thread for discussion amongst my fellow Pounders. Enjoy what analysis I managed to do, and don't sue me for watching The Colbert Report late at night.

What do you think of my theory that the Spurs allowing 16-23 footers is by design?
