Well, here we are, very fortunate to have won the championship and fortunate that Tim Duncan will still play next year. But for the nth time, what happens if he retires? There is a huge chance that Manu Ginobili will retire too, worst, Pop might go along with Tim. So that leaves Parker, who will be 33 next season.
So there is still much hope that Parker, together with his best friend of same age Boris Diaw, the two oldest and very good player, will lead the team to playoffs, but I'm not so sure about the finals. (Matt Bonner......I honestly do not know, he might retire too, I hope not yet)
So what happens after Tim, Manu, Tomy, Boris, and Matt leaves??
I sure do hope so that Pop might stay for a few years to guide the next generation, maybe 2 to 3 years so that they can get a proper head start.
First thing that will come into our mind, Kawhi Leonard will be the next face of the franchise. But who will be the other two missing pieces in the Big 3 (or Big 10, hahaha)?
Tiago Splitter? Nah, he's more of a team player, not a Big 3 type. And he's 30 years old next year.
Danny Green? Maybe, maybe, I hope so, it'll look good, a D-league alum becoming one of the Big 3. But aside from his passing skills and 3 pt shooting, he is not a Manu Ginobili-type of player YET.
Patty Mills? I really, really, really hope he stays with us, a Big 3 type of player? Maybe, there is huge chance, i mean Parker is still there, we haven't seen the 36 minute-Patty Mills yet.
Marco Bellinelli? I'm not really sure, he has the same case with Danny Green.
Aron Baynes? Has a huge potential. He already showed some great skill in some part of the regular season.
To be honest, the hardest part would be replacing Pop and Timmy. Where can we find their reincarnation? Where?!
