Today, I didn't really plan on watching any playoff basketball. I was thinking I'd take a break from it all and enjoy some other things before tomorrow came and the Spurs play their game 5. The most I kept up was checking the scores every now and again.
Firstly, wow Indiana, I just cannot, for the life of me, get a read on you guys.
Later on, I kept on internet surfing before going to espn seeing the Clippers were up 104-97 with roughly 43 or 44 seconds remaining. "What the heck.." I thought and turned the game on. The first thing I see is Kevin Durant rising and hitting a 3 point shot over Glen Davis.
"Well, okay then there's still about 37 seconds left and the Clips are still up 4. They'll probably still win this." I see Jamal take a drive and let go a nice looking scoop shot which rims out. Right then, I start thinking, "Uh oh," only to see the outlet where Durant drives and gets an easy score.
Somewhere during all that I let out an, "Oh my..."
Inbound, Chris Paul has it. "Okay just get it past half court and take the foul and hit the free throws." Then, I witness what I can only describe as the absolute worst jump pass thing I have ever seen before in my life. Turnover. "Ohh boy. Total collapse incoming."
Ref's call: OKC ball
"Huuuuuuhhhh? I mean yeah it looks like Reggie was fouled but it was clear to be off his hand."
After that thought, I could feel in my bones that Westbrook would try to take yet another hero ball 3 point shot because God could make hell freeze over quicker than he could get Westbrook to pass the ball in a situation like this.
Ball goes in, Westbrook has it. "Here it comes." Sure enough, he rises up, takes the ugliest shot ever and doesn't even catch rim.
"Oh. My. God."
Three free throws, a Chris Paul turnover and a Doc Rivers tantrum later, OKC wins.
"I think I killed it for them..."
