And just like that, your Spurs, that too old, too fragile, oft injured, unheralded, "may not make it out of the first round", "might be able to snag a top four seed" team, is sitting pretty with the best record in the NBA. And they were able to do it while sitting at home sipping margaritas and eating breakfast tacos. Who knew that all they had to do was stop playing and the best record would come to them??? Now that they've got that figured out, hopefully they can keep doing it.
As usual, the narrative that you will hear is that the Heat are struggling, the Pacers are struggling, the Thunder are struggling, the Blazers are struggling, the only reason the Spurs beat the heat was the jerseys, etc. Oh, and the Clippers are playing out of their minds. Not much love for the Spurs. Have to see how the rankings treat them. My prediction is an average of 3, with a #1 or #2 sprinkled in.
