Fantasy Basketball Week 22: San Antonio Spurs Daily Fantasy Options

Pounding the Rock Fantasy Basketball fanatic Phil Naessens shares his thoughts on which San Antonio Spurs would benefit daily Fantasy Basketball owners and gives replacements for Kyrie Irving and J.J. Hickson.

Week 22 of the Fantasy Basketball season is upon us. Most of you should now be either beginning your playoffs or in many cases into the second week of your first round playoff match-ups.

The following question came in this week.

Last week you said you couldn't recommend any San Antonio Spurs players for weekly rosters because of the crazy rotations. What about them for daily leagues?

This week the Spurs have four games on the docket (Philadelphia, Denver, Denver, New Orleans) so there is the opportunity for some Spurs players to provide great value in a salary cap league.

Monday: The Spurs play Philly so you could probably assume the bigger names like Tim Duncan and Tony Parker won't play much. You could make a reasonable case for adding Tiago Splitter, Patty Mills or even Boris Diaw to your lineups on Monday.

Wednesday: The Spurs host Denver and with J.J. Hickson blowing out his knee Denver is pretty thin inside so maybe adding Kawhi Leonard or Tiago Splitter might be a good idea for Wednesday.

Friday: The Spurs travel to the mile high city to face Denver once again, and more than likely--especially with them travelling back to San Antonio to play New Orleans for a game on Saturday--I can't really recommend anyone for this game.

Saturday: The Pelicans are 17th in the Association in three pointers allowed so you might consider adding Danny Green or Marco Belinelli to your lineups on Saturday.

Now onto the weekly picks:

Injuries to Kyrie Irving and J.J. Hickson have made a mess out of some rosters but fortunately there is help available.

Jarrett Jack PG SG Cleveland: Jack is widely available and currently getting the minutes. While he hasn't set the Fantasy world on fire he won't hurt you. The Cavaliers have four games this week so he'll have ample opportunities to put some points on your scoreboard. (Stats)

Reggie Jackson PG OKC Thunder: Even though Russell Westbrook has survived a crazy injury scare Jackson is a good play this week. The Thunder have four games this week and Jackson should be a good source for assists, steals, rebounds and points. He's widely available so grab him. (Stats)

Mario Chalmers PG Miami: The Heat have four games this week and Chalmers is pretty hot. He's a great source for assists, treys and every so often has big scoring nights as well. He's surprisingly widely available and of the three that I've named your best bet this week. (Stats)

Gorgui Deng PF C Minnesota: The T-Wolves have been minus injured center Nikola Pekovic, but luckily for them Deng has stepped up and recorded double-doubles in his last three games. The T-Wolves have four games this week so as long as Pekovic remains day-to-day Deng is a tremendous option (Stats)

Enes Kanter PF C Utah: Utah has four games this week and over the last six contests Kanter has been averaging a double-double. He's widely available and should be a good source of points and rebounds this week. (Stats)

Miles Plumlee PF C Phoenix: Plumlee has had an interesting Fantasy season but he's widely available and with four games this week he should be a good source of rebounds and the occasional double digit scoring performance. (Stats)

On today's show Kevin Lipe and I take a look at the Memphis Grizzlies and the possible first round playoff with the Spurs, Joe Mullinax joins me to talk all things Fantasy Basketball and Tom Lewis and I discuss the Indiana Pacers scoring woes and much more. Pounding the Rock Fantasy League

The PtR Fantasy basketball league concluded its regular season this past Sunday. There were some extremely close matchups and at press the battle for first place looks as though it will end in a tie. At the start of the week league leaders Panduro Team and Tarheel Triple were both tied with 16 wins apiece. Tarheel Triple easily got past Belgian Beaches while Panduro Team was in a neck and neck battle Kawhisenberg Level. At press time Kawhisenberg held a slim lead but my money is on Panduro this week. You can check out the results at the link below.

Good luck this coming week Fantasy owners!
