SLC Dunk - In the SLC Recap, it seems the Spurs can be relied upon. "But as we're certain that the sun will come up the next day we are certain that the Spurs...."
Derrick Favors, who had a team high 28 points, had this to say about the Spurs - "It’s an honor to play against a guy like Tim Duncan, so I just go out there and play as hard as I can." He went on to say, "It’s amazing to watch it… And it’s something we can learn from."
"Regardless of personnel, they all pass the basketball," said Jazz forward Gordon Hayward, "the ball never stops, they hit the open man and defensively, they’re all where they are supposed to be at. So I think that’s a team a lot of teams in the NBA try to emulate."
Seeing as how some are already hoping for a Mavs vs Spurs 1st Round matchup, AirAlamo, ranks our potential opponents. (Most favorable to Least)
Reporter – "You ever seen Marco jump that high as he did on that dunk?"
Manu – "Well, actually, I’ve seen Marco when he used to play slam dunk contests. So, back in the day…when he was 20, 21…he was dunking a lot, actually. So, I’m happy to see him bounce again, as he used to."
Reporter – "This is the 15th season in a row, where the Spurs have won 50 games or more. That’s quite a milestone."
Classic Coach Pop – "OK"
Tim Duncan, already known for his love of fancy wardrobes, has expanded his brand to auto customization and his giving away a personally customized truck.
Mileage Tracker – Timmy: 2 miles / Manu: 1.7 miles / Tony: 2 miles.
In the Big 3 debate, here’s another case for the Spurs. There are plenty of quotes from the good guys in this one, but check out the comments section. Spurs fans everywhere!
Standings – The Spurs take a 2 game lead over the OKC Thunder. Phoenix remains on the outside looking in, but they are on the heels of the Memphis Grizzlies for that 8th Seed. If Phoenix played in the East, they would be a 3 Seed. Yikes!
Bonus: In the first Austin "Toros" Daye game, it’s only right that a Spur set a new single-season record. Plus, Daye put up a good showing as well: 27 pts, 13 rbs, 3 asts, 2 blks.
Up Next: Wednesday Night at the Lakers.
