Game Links: Bobcats at Spurs

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

It took a while, but the Spurs were eventually able to shut the door on the Bobcats and send them home with a loss. Here are your game links for Friday's matchup against Charlotte.

When asked about the team's slow start over the past couple games, Manu Ginobili replied, "it felt like we had to be in trouble to react. Against some teams, you won't be able to come back."

In discussing his team's 19 turnovers, Pop admitted they had a problem, saying, "Taking care of the ball has been a bugaboo for a while now." Go ahead and watch the interview if only to hear Pop say the word "bugaboo."

In his post-game interview, Tim Duncan talked about the Spurs grinding out another win by coming from behind, but it was Cory Joseph who silently stole the show by standing alongside the media because the interview was being held right in front of his locker.

Dan McCarney summed up the game by comparing it to a slugfest we might have seen from the Spurs in the early 00s.

Raul Dominguez of the Associated Press noted how the Spurs looked comfortable down the stretch, even though Popovich considered the game "hard to watch."

Derek James, over at Rufus on Fire, wrote that despite the Spurs' slow start, he knew that they were eventually going to "get it going."

Report Cards – Trevor Zickgraf of 48 Minutes of Hell hands out player grades, and gave out quite a few "A's".

In the game, Duncan passed Hakeem Olajuwon for 12th all-time in NBA career rebounds. Just for fun, here are stat lines for the 10 games in which Duncan played against Olajuwon in the late 90's to early 2000's. Duncan went 10-0 in those matchups.

In case you missed it, Friday night was Military Appreciation Night at the AT&T Center and there was a nice tribute to Medal of Honor recipients at the game.

In non-Spurs or Bobcats news, the Pelicans' Tyreke Evans almost didn't make it to Friday's game against the Suns because he got stuck in an elevator. Cue the M. Night Shyamalan jokes!

Next up for the Spurs will be the Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
