With the possibility of this buyout looming the Spurs have been linked to Granger in that there is a possibility they sign him. Although it has become evident that the Danny Granger is looking for a team that will provide a legit championship threat (which the Spurs possess) and valuable playing time(Probably not with the Spurs).
In my honest opinion i believe the spurs will sign Granger, but he may not be thrilled with the results the spurs can provide. The Spurs are a championship contender and no one can say otherwise unless a big name such as tim or tony goes down for the season. But Granger will probably end up as Kawhi's backup a role that Stephen Jackson held last year and he left the team because of playing time.
@JMcDonald_SAEN "Just a reminder: Spurs couldn't promise steady playoff minutes to Stephen Jackson last year. And he was already on the team.
The other prominent option for Granger would be the LA Clippers and although they have not proved they are championship ready they can definitely provide minutes. With the loss of JJ Redick for the majority of the season a gap in the LA lineup is open and ready to be filled.
There is no doubt that if Granger is healthy he can provide a great deal of energy and pure talent coming off the bench but whether or not the spurs sign him and whether or not he would be happy with the spurs remains to be seen.
