Hi there all,
First post! Although, Ive been a devotee to the Spurs since the Robinson-era. But they've been especially fun to watch the last few years and, in my opinion, are what the model of a successful NBA franchise will look like for the years to come.
So about the title, whatcha think? I'm suggesting that Pop think about sitting Parker for the entire year for games and save his energy/enthusiasm for the playoffs. He's had an especially long year and lord knows we want a happy/ exciting Parker in June! One thing I noticed in the Finals, was in 5,6,7 he was defendable because he had younger legs to step in front of him, and whenever he saw James in the lane, he backed off, very un-Parker like for sure. So, why not sit him for the season? I mean he can join practices and stay fresh, but we got Mills, Joseph, and Decolo(in the wings) to keep the wheels turning, and Mills/Joseph have been surprisingly playable in alot of good matchups.
Another reason I bring this up, is because in last years playoffs, I thought the Spurs played a lot less of their bench, and during the regular season, that's what made them so special, and usually thats where their spark came from. I would rather suggest saving Duncan or Ginobli, but those two are too impactful on most of there games. To me, it seems like Parker goes in and out of being inspired and inspirational(a habit i think he's exhibited from his early days as a Spur).
So tell me what you think and I promise I'll be watching every minute of every games this year, rooting for them and dat' bench!
