I am not going to panic yet, and even though the loss to the Knicks worries me more than previous losses to good teams, we are having a decent season so far. However, I am getting increasingly worried about Kawhi. It's not just that his 3-point shot is off, but he looks flat and disengaged most of the time to me. Sure, he is quite able to get a coast-to-coast play with a highlight dunk at the end, and therefore get us all in awe. But he doesn't seem to play in the flow of the team's offense. Moreover, our defense is suffering lately, and as we all know that Kawhi is our premier perimeter defender, I wonder if his effort at the defensive end is somewhat lacking. People say that he cannot play bigger role while Tim and Manu are still on the team, but most of the Spurs thrive when playing with Manu, because he is such a great playmaker. Manu didn't prevent Green from shooting 100% with 5 3-pointers against the Mavs, or Marco from having a career game against the Knicks. KLeo declared that he wants to be an all-star and a superstar, but right now he seems just to act like a superstar-in-waiting, as if after the Big 3 is gone he is going to be a superstar by default. That's not how it happens in the NBA. He is way too young to be so passive and expect great results. It would be nice if someone could analyze his play this season so far and explain, why I am wrong. Right now, I worry not just about this season, but about his future potential as well.
