I know many people would like to forget about this game, but let's face it, that will never happen. I know many people have blamed Gregg Popovich for the loss because he took out Tim Duncan. Well for those people, I would like them to consider the following:
- Pop had previously taken out Tim Duncan in similar moments and the Spurs had come away with the victory.
- Instead of blaming Pop, why not put some of the blame on Tony Parker and Boris Diaw for lack of communication.
- If go back and watch the play, Parker got screened by Chris Bosh so naturally Diaw helped out, but here is where the problem started. Parker and Diaw both ran toward Lebron James, whom they had been letting take 3s in previous games, that allowed Bosh a clean roll to the basket. All they had to do was communicate with each other and switch that pick-and-roll. That way one of them would have been on Bosh to box him out.
So I did not see this as Gregg Popovich's fault. I just saw a lack of communication between two teammates; which is very rare for teammates that have been playing together for as long as Parker and Diaw have.
