I am grateful for Manu Ginobili. I have my Manu jersey. I loved his productive years with us. He was great. He was our savior at times. He was the rally cry, the fearless warrior who left all his heart and body on the court.
Now, he's not a very good basketball player. As in, I don't think he would do well internationally either. He hasn't even faded into the physically limited but savvy veteran stage. He makes terrible, costly, bonehead mistakes. I hate to watch him now. It's painful, because of how good he used to be. He is a huge weak link, and he played a huge role in us losing this series. He was an asset in one game; he was a liability in six games. And it wasn't just the Finals, lest any of you try to deceive yourselves. It was pretty much the whole playoffs, and most of the regular season. He never really found his game, because I'm afraid his game has left him. Call it age, call it the yips, whatever the case, Manu Ginobili is no longer someone I want on the Spurs.
Please, please retire, Manu, so it doesn't get awkward.
