Back in the day I enjoyed dominating foes with the best teams available like playing with the Broncos on Game Day 98 or playing with the Bulls when the game NBA Live was popular. If you did not now hockey or baseball you could simply compare the stats or ratings and pick the best team and win possibly. So why do the Spurs in this generation of games always suck in my opinion? Currently I have a losing record on NBA 2K13 playing with the Spurs online. I run my team like the Spurs as close as possible and have concluded that the real life formula and caliber of the Spurs does not work for the Spurs in the video game world. If you have played NBA 2k, you are familiar with some of the exaggerated athleticism of certain players, some more obvious than others. If you have played with the Spurs you probably noticed the extreme lack of athleticism or team flow. Maybe it’s just me but I feel that the same lack of passion of making a team that actually reflects how dominant the team is compares to the amount of passion the media takes to illustrate how much winning power the Spurs actually posses. I think this has a profound effect on how people develop these games. It would sure be a sad day in gaming when developers begin depending on marketing information to create teams. The Spurs should be the best sports team in gaming right now with its players, coach, and team strategy, but that sure isn't the case.
