Why in a million years would Portland do it? They'd clear 13.5 million off the books next year, they'd be able to sign certainly one, potentially two max or near-max free agents next year, counting their other expiring contracts. It's what they would do if they wanted to blow up and start from scratch, which looks like a decent idea.

I'm sure LaMarcus would rather spend the the last 3 years of his 20s on a relevant team.
