I was monkeying around in the Trade Machine this morning, and I came up with this three-team deal between us, Phoenix and Washington:
Essentially, we give up Splitter and Bonner for Gortat; Phoenix gets Nene from Washington in return; and Washington gets Splitter, Bonner, Shannon Brown and Jermaine O'Neal. Phoenix gets a difference-maker, we get the defensive 7-footer we crave and Washington gets out from under a bad contract, a few expiring deals and pieces they can move.
Now, has Splitter reached the point that he's too good to give up in a deal like this? He's turned at least a corner, that's for sure, and his defense looks pretty good even when his rebounding leaves you underwhelmed. I think Gortat is still an upgrade, but it's closer than it was.
What do you guys think?
