I somehow get the feeling that as it is PtR and other Spurs fan sites are filled to the brim with Debbie Downers. Not to say that I'd take hearing total homers every day, but I swear that you'd think the Spurs turned all of a sudden into the Bucks (who have a roster that's definitely a treadmill team) or the Bulls (who HAVE decided to take off the 2012-13 season because their star player's out).
And somehow fans of other teams have a better opinion of our team. Everyone has the Spurs as a top 3 team in the West, and they always say never count out a Gregg Popovich-coached team. And yet I've the feeling that some fans just want to concede this season since the Spurs aren't favored to win it all.
It's this attitude that irks me. The 20 win streak made the Spurs fans feel entitled (myself included, I confess) that we didn't see the Thunder series coming. Nevertheless, it's not easy being a Spurs fan. Underdogs may be lovable, but the NBA is a league of big fish.
Of course it just may be me, given that we've reached the point of the offseason where the big names have all signed their contracts and the annually requisite "big trade" and all that's left are the minimum folk and training camp invites. Either way, I think everyone just wants the offseason to end and for Tim Duncan to hopefully win the tip against Anthony Davis.
