The day after Tomorrow

The Spurs are now facing elimination. As a Spurs fan, it hurts. During the regular season and the first and second round of the playoffs, the Spurs are the genius of the NBA. They are nearly unbeatable because they play as the game was supposed to be played. Naismith invented the game and he called it TEAM GAME. The Spurs are not relying on individual talent even though they have many talented individuals to win a game. The Spurs are the only team in the NBA this season that play team basketball. There are times that they rely on the skill and talent of an individual to win them a game but they do it as a team. They ask a player to defend, to pass and to shoot with the assurance that they are there in the end no matter what. In Spurs basketball world, every player whether your a veteran or a novice, experienced or a rookie to do your part in the team.

But what happens if a player does not play in the standard required to him? What happens when a player cannot shoot, cannot defend and can not pass? What happens when one player starts to commit turn overs after turn overs? The answer is simple. You lost 3 straight. You get what I mean? What I mean is if a single player does not do what is required to him, the team suffers. The game is designed to be played 5 on 5 right? Yes, not 3 on 5 0r 2 on 5. Im not blaming a particular player here.

Since game 3, the Spurs played 3 on 5 basketball. You ask me where are the 2? They vanished. So when will the Spurs be able to play 5 on 5 basketball? We will know the answer the day after tomorrow. But as of now, I have to gulp this can of beer because I cannot wait the day after tomorrow thinking that a 3 on 5 game is not basketball. Its massacre. And that hurts.
