So just a couple of thoughts that I had that the spurs could do to adjust to the Thunder's new defense.
I read the SI article where the guy breaks down the the thunder D. based off of that back door screens should be open.
the way the thunder have been crashing the paint and cutting off passing lanes a couple of different things could work
1. Kawhi could split the defense ala manu or tony since the weak side double team won't be as hard as the trap they put on the guards.
2. the thunder did exactly what the mavericks did the last time we lost to them. (the game we realize we had a great 2nd unit). they would crash towards the dribble just enough to make him hesitate/pick up the dribble and then cheat towards the passing lanes. so a few good ball fakes and or forcing the double team to commit would be good. also crisp passing and early passes to not let their defense get established anywhere
3. I hope we can see some dejuan especially if we start off slow. I think he can throw a monkey wrench into the thunders gameplan. hopefully the bear shows up and not the guy that turns the ball over and swipes down on d.
4. simply better shooting. the spurs had a bunch of open looks that didnt' fall. a few of those fall=less run n' gun for the thunder.
I say instead of "The Others" being left open to score for the thunder, I say we zone up westbrook and durant and make them shoot as many jumpshots as possible. they will probably get hot and light us up for 90 but the 2 of them will be more tired down the stretch and more likely to miss. and their shooters will be cold.
we should let their big 3 try and beat us instead of their other 7. also because their big 3 are goign to beat us anyway. our d won't stop them, might as well let them have their points and eliminate the other options
"Don't worry guys, I got this"
