The Spurs should go for the best record in the league. The Bulls could possibly lose 2 of their last 3 games, @ home to the Mavs, @ the Pacers. The Thunder could possibly lose to @ the Lakers or @ home to the Nuggets.
The Spurs have a rhythm now that should be continued into the playoffs. The final 5 games look to have only 2 possible stumbling blocks, tonight vs the Lakers with Kobe playing and @ the Suns. If the Spurs beat the Lakers, the Suns game should have the big 3 play, and sit Duncan and Ginobili vs the D-league version of the Warriors who are in tank mode anyway.
Admittedly, Ginobili aka "El Contusion" hasn't been healthy for a playoff run but once in the past 4 years and even then he broke his nose, so trying to protect him is basically futile. Just limit his minutes and live with the results.
I think that starting a playoff series at home, with a final game at home as a possiblity would be beneficial for the Spurs come playoff time, especially against the caliber of competition the Spurs would be facing with a deep playoff run.
