Sure does look intentional. On the other hand, who knows if Scola had it coming.

Scola did throw the ball at KLove’s junk the last game they played. It wasn’t intentional and he apologized, though.

by sleep research facility on Feb 4, 2012 10:28 PM CST up reply actions
It looks bad but Love doesn’t strike me as a dirty player. Scola had flopped on the two plays leading up to that one so he was probably angry and let his emotions get the best of him.
"Manu Ginobili is the ultimate human cheat code, the password to the rim."
-Alex Dewey
Had it coming? What the heck? He’s a great guy, and certainly didn’t have anything like that coming.
I know he is from your homeland, but it looked to me like he aimed that ball directly at Loves crotch. ( I am sure Scola probably is a great guy, by the same token, Love appears to be a good guy as well)
Who knows, maybe Scola was himself provoked. I am not questioning anyones stand-upness here, just making a comment on observation. To be fare, I would be extremely pissed off if someone slung a ball at my jewels, whether it was intentional or not.
A man gets the eye of a Tiger, but a Tiger gets the eye of a Manu.
Yes, he is from my country. I have seen him play for many, many years, ever since he was basically a kid. He never got into a fight, never hurt anyone. I don’t even remember seeing a flagrant from him. He’s not perfect, but he’s definitely not someone that would aim a shot at another player’s ball.
The two choices are: a) he tried to hit Love somewhere in his body, to bounce the ball off court and get it back, and missed; b) he deliberately tried to hurt Love. I am completely certain that a) is right – just as I would be if Manu was in the same situation.
I might be pissed if someone slug a ball at my jewels. I would not step on his face. Duncan would not step on his face. Manu would not step on his face.
I cant say what happened. I do not know either participant in this series of exchanges, nor the totality of their dealings. I just saw the videos was all. I do not know what I would do if placed in the same situation. But I digress from this pointless argument. I come in here to read cool stuff, talk to cool people and root for the Spurs, not argue about silly things. Asi es que calmate, cuate. Somos del mismo equipo.
A man gets the eye of a Tiger, but a Tiger gets the eye of a Manu.
I don’t know why you think I’m mad, or agitated, or whatever. You read too much into my mild “what the heck”. I was just giving you arguments as to why I didn’t think Scola “had it coming”. And then I explained that your justification as to why Love would have a reason to do that was fundamentally flawed. But I’m not mad.
So apparently Westbrook said something to TP at the beginning of the game, and TP got mad

He wanted out of LA. Otherwise they would have kept him.
Laker fans have been screaming for their GM to do something, but what is he supposed to do? Getting past the Lakers big 3, the rest of the roster can’t be moved. The 3 MoHeatos are surrounded by Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier, and Norris Cole. Derek Fisher is no Chalmers, Troy Murphy is no Miller, “Metta World Peace” is no Haslem, Matt Barnes is no Battier, and Darius Morris is no Cole.

And just like that, the Spurs are the number 3 seed in the west, without Manu Ginobili. This team is going to be beasting when he comes back.
A man gets the eye of a Tiger, but a Tiger gets the eye of a Manu.
This is different though, they are doing it without their best player. This might turn out to be the best Spurs team of the last 4 or so years. ( Though the defensive rating doesnt really say that, but theres time to improve on that horrible number)
A man gets the eye of a Tiger, but a Tiger gets the eye of a Manu.
if you correlate between The top 5 in the west and Top 5 in the east
WEST
1 Thunder = 95.13 Points Allowed thanks to us Rank 14
2 Clippers = 96.95 Rank 24
3 Spurs = Rank 13th Points Allowed 93.92
4 Denver = 99.33 Rank Rank 26
5 Utah = 96.77 Rank 23
*So Right now, if we talk about the TOP 5 in the west we are the best defensive team
EAST
1 Bulls = 88.50 Points Allowed Rank 3
2 Miami = 95.83 Points Allowed Rank 18
3 Sixers = 86.50 Rank 1
4 Pacers = 90.74 Rank 4
5 Hawks = 91.13 Rank 8
by cuentaluis1 on Feb 5, 2012 4:17 AM CST up reply actions 1 recs
If you were to look at the worst offensive teams, a number of them are in the East and have been the opponents of the top defensive teams it the East. At this point it’s questionable as to whether some of teams at the top on defense are only there because they’ve played so many bad offensive teams. Orlando for instance has only the 8th ranked offense with an average of 92.17 points, and they scored only 83 in their game against the Spurs. Orlando’s played Indiana 3 times twice scoring 85 and once scoring 102. They scored 83 against the Bulls and only 69 against Philadelphia. The Spurs have had about 4 games against the bottom 12 offensive teams, whereas Philly has had about 12 games against them.
I tend to also take point differential into consideration. A team like the Thunder may give up 95, but they score 100, one of the top three offenses in the league, so they are still +5 against their opponents.
Also, if you look at opponent’s shooting percentage, the Spurs are not where they want to be, although they are slowly getting better. We are still in the bottom third of the league in that category.
(Full disclaimer: I hate everyone.) -- Fred Silva and JRW
It’s easier to build up a nice point differential when you’re playing against weak opponents than it is when you’re playing against the better teams in the league. Things tend to even out more when you get deep into the schedule. Let’s see if the Spurs point differential changes much after playing Detroit, Toronto and New Jersey.
