I voted for the Mavs only because they’re behind us. Had they been further back, then I would definitely voted for the Lakers.

Yea I’m happy he didn’t pick the Bulls. I really didn’t feel like listening to the Bulls fans boast about how he’s gonna be the guy to get them past Miami this season.

In order to sign him they need to waive someone from their roster. It seems there was some talk of waiving Oden. If they do, should the Spurs claim him despite the fact that he is out for the year? Unlike Portland, the Spurs only have 14 players on their roster. Oden is still only 24 years old.

by Alamo on Feb 22, 2012 10:10 PM CST up reply actions

Oden is still only 24 years old.

But with the knees of an old man.

by TDzilla! on Feb 22, 2012 10:12 PM CST up reply actions

Oden is out until the end of next season at least. And his contract expires at the end of this season. I don’t see why would you claim him before the summer, but I may not understand something about the rules here.

Both teams played hard

by Kondor on Feb 22, 2012 10:14 PM CST up reply actions

Didn’t realize he would be out that long. I’m not sure how it all works, but I take it that anyone picking him up might be entitled to whatever options there’d be?

by Alamo on Feb 22, 2012 10:28 PM CST up reply actions

I think he is unrestricted this coming summer. There might be some technicalities involved like you may offer him more money, but I doubt he would be looking for max contract anyway, rather something like a vet minimum.

Lin with 17 points on 55% shooting and 9 assists. Novak 5-10 on the 3 pointers, 17 points as well. Not a bad night statistically. I would never think I’d cheer for the Knicks this season, but they are actually my favorite eastern team right now.
