Wow. To bad we are knee deep in sg’s right now. Anderson replacement?

Do or do not! There is no try!

Is he a PG or a SG or Both?

Brent Barry

That seems like a great comparison, actually.

Viktor Sanikidze is averaging a double-double for Canadian Solar Bologna. Among his teammates is Chris Douglas-Roberts who played less year for the Bucks. Viktor is outplaying Chris in most statistical categories. His position is listed as PF, though his height is given as 6’7"

I’m hoping the Spurs invite (at least) Nando, Lorbek and Sanikidze to summer league this year. I’d also like to see Richards. Hanga and Bertans still need a lot more seasoning, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them on the SL squad either.

Actually, scratch Lorbek. He should be in training camp, and is well enough established to skip SL.

He should be on the team next year.

Winter is coming

The thing is, you just can’t compare a guy who play in the very weak Canadian league to a guy playing in the toughest league in the world behind the NBA, So Viktor good play doesn’t say anything. However, it has been established already that top guys from Spain will succeed in the NBA. In almost 100% certainty[Seriously, you will have to try HARD in order to find someone who played well in Spain and failed in the NBA]
I am all for bringing him for a summer league but don’t get your hopes up.
However, if it’s possible, bringing Lorbek and De Colo will do wonders for us next year.

Ummm, Sanikidze plays in Italy. Candian Solar is just the team’s sponsor. But no, he doesn’t play in a great league, since Bologna doesn’t play in Euroleague or even Eurocup.

There are spanish players who have did well in ACB and Euroleague and was average to garbage in the NBA and you don’t have to look hard at all. LOL.

Juan Carlos Narvarro is a big name guy who comes to mind right off the bat. A lot of things factor into if a guy can make the transition to the NBA and a good portion of that hinges on the coaches playing style and if the players can and are willing to adjust.

Do you really mean that?!?! The guy barely played! If he had stayed he would have be an All-Star!

by ironm8 on Feb 1, 2012 3:18 AM CST up reply actions

And I missed the Bologna thingie in the team’s name.
Well yeah, the Italian league is not as nearly good as it was when Manu was the MVP.

by ironm8 on Feb 1, 2012 3:24 AM CST up reply actions

I didn’t mean just spanish players. I mean players who have done well in those leagues in general including some americans who go overseas and do great but will most likely never make an NBA roster

Actually, the comparison was to his teammate Christ Douglas-Roberts who spent 3 years in the NBA with the Nets and the Bucks. I wasn’t saying CDR was a great player, but that he’s had a few decent years in the NBA while Viktor has been playing better than him as a teammate.

Thanks for the info, Tim. I’d love to see another one of your posts about Euroball.

I told you guys, he is well ready to get here. He i believe was a lock from day 1, and i also believe he is the reason that Anderson was effectively let go. His game is almost as sound as Manu.

About time Nando started ballin’. He had one solid game for France in the tournament for Olympic season this year. I hope he maybe gets his shit together because he seems to have talent. Maybe he will come work out with the team this offseason.
