Joe deLarios Advanced Box Score SAS@MIN: the Tale of the Last 1/4

Wow, that last quarter was about as ugly as it gets.

3 Top Non-contributors in the 4th:

3. RJ 0.00001. Wow, you're nickname should be mirage, cause I can't tell if you are really there or not. You played the entire quarter and all you came up with was 4 rebounds. Yeah, not bad compared to the other two on this list but other than that you had a missed shot, a foul and a turn over. RJ 3.0 - I remember that poll and my vote was not convinced yet, let's wait and see. I am still waiting.

2. Tim may need another DNP-Coach's Decision for the next game. Tim went 0-3, 1 Turn Over and 1 Foul - on the plus side he had 1 Rebound and 1 Block in 9 and half minutes. CMP in the 4th: -0.22

1. Danny "Greensleeves" Green had the worse game of his career in his new position. In the 4th Quarter the only thing positive he contributed to his team was............oh, yeah, nothing. After almost 3 minutes of play in the 4th Quarter, Pop had had enough of the youngster. Danny committed a foul, missed a shot and turned the ball over in that time. Let's hope he takes this as a chance to rise above.

3 Top Contributors in the 4th:

3. Gary "Nailgun" Neal. You came in and played just under 6 minutes. In that time you made 1 of 2 three pointers. Oh, you didn't make any mistakes other than that one miss. Congrats for the making the list. The only reason you are on it and not Bonner is that you made your 3 points in slightly less time than him.

2. Tony Parker. I had to put you on here because without you in the 4th, the team would have had 8 points in the 4th Quarter instead of 15. Other than that you were not terribly effective. You went 3 for 7 in shooting, had 1 Free Throw 1 Rebound and 1 Assist. Add to that your 2 Personal Fouls and 1 Turn Over and on any other night you would have been the goat, but on a night like tonight, you looked like Flaming Rooster.

1. Tiago "Sparkles" Splitter. Tiago, I am more impressed by you every game. You are showing all of Spursdom that you are the player that we had hoped you would be. Thank you. Although you missed both shots, you hit both Free Throws, gobbled up 2 Rebounds to go along with an Assist, a Steal and a Blocked Shot. Way to go my favorite Brazilian (no offense to Brenda, my former student, you are still in the top 5 ;))

The team missed Parker last night. Without Manu the margin of error is minimal. If Tony doesn’t excel, the Spurs suffer. Glad to see Splitter and Bonner contributing consistently over the last couple of games.
