Ryan Richards made it past the first cut for the GB Men's squad. The team started off with 23 players and has cut it down to 20 players as of Friday the 5th of August.

The team played there first warm up game to help determine of course who will be next in line to be cut from the team. Ryan Richards after his outstanding performance against a out matched Netherlands team, looks like he should be safe for at least another day or so as he dropped 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting in only 11 minutes of action! GB suited up 14 players for the scrimmage and all players got at least 10 minutes of action. GB went on to destroy the Netherlands 96 to 70 and Richards exploded for 10 of his points in the fourth quarter.

Hoopsfix.com had a live feed to the game and I had the pleasure of watching most of the game and Richards looked solid all around on the court. One of his first shots I seen him take and make was a corner 3 in the 2nd quarter followed up by a nice two handed dunk in light traffic. Defensively he looked solid and seems to hedge and recover nicely on the pick and rolls. Of course this is against a Netherlands team that isn't that talented and has only two NBA players (Francisco Elson & Dan Gazuric) on there roster who I'm not sure if they played or not. Richards still looked solid over all and great offensively. There next game is Tuesday versus Nigeria. If you want to see the replay of this game hoopsfix.com is reporting to have a high definition copy of it on the website soon.
