06.09.11 NBA Finals Game 5 Loser Thread

"Game 5, Let's go!" Sorry. I always think of that whenever I hear the words Game [ insert number here ]. In the Chicago Bulls 1992 Championship Video, Stacey King says that out loud during pregame warm-ups (of Game 4), while he and Cliff Levingston are on the bench. That's about right. (Fast forward to about 7:20 in that clip for some nostalgia.)

Star-divide

The Mavs had another amazing comeback on Tuesday. Dirk had a temperature of 101, and Lebron had 8. Points, that is. Needless to say, he hasn't heard the end of that for the last 48 hours. Game 5 is tonight. Who takes the series lead?

I’m also getting tired of the “hit but don’t get hit” style. Experts call it beautiful boxing but it chases away the casual fans. I mean, why call it a “fight” when somebody just constantly runs around the ring and doesn’t look for knockdowns? It’s killing the sport.

Epiphany. I finally realized why I want Dallas to win.

It’s that losing will hurt Miami more than it will Dallas. You see, Dallas is used to winning, and they’ve been called chokers for years now. No one expected anything of them, and they were swept out in the first round by the Spurs last season. They’ve suffered, so this will be more of a relief.

But LeBron, Wade, et al? They have a sense of entitlement that I can’t wait to see crushed against hard, cold, uncaring reality.

Yeah, I think that’s why. Now I just hope reality is hard, cold and uncaring instead of just predictable.

If he wanted them to get better, why not? That’s how Jordan tested out how tough his teammates can get — destroyed them in practices, in drills, one-on-ones, everything. LeBron? He passed them the rock to see if they can make shots and if they didn’t, he quit.

My point is that (as I said many times before) Lebron has the exact same attitude than 80% of the NBA players. He is no worse than the average player.
Do you want to know who is an above average asshole? Kevin Garnett.

A lot of guys say stupid and arrogant things game after game after game, Lebron just does it once in like 5 games. He gets scrutinized because he is probably the best player.

Mavs Championship DVD

Don’t people want to see their sweep of the Lakers documented in greater detail?

People complain about almost no dunking in the WNBA. I LIKE that there is almost no dunking in the WNBA. That way, we're never subjected to garbage like LeBron and Bosh strutting and posing and hollering like punks after doing something as basic as jumping high enough.

Every Texas native on this board needs to man up and root for the other Texas team. It’s as close as the trophy’s going to get this year.

So because I live in CO, I have to root for the Nuggets?

Woul you root for them if they were in the finals against Miami?

JVG kept insisting that Dallas was doubling him on every play, but it didnt seem like it. Maybe I wasnt watching closely enough.

LeBron frustrates the crap out of me. He’s the most talented player out there, but WHY can’t he step it up in the big game?!?! I don’t get it.

by Ed (dfjmed) on Jun 9, 2011 11:21 PM CDT up reply actions

I dont’ care if he had the triple double, he didn’t score enough.

by Ed (dfjmed) on Jun 9, 2011 11:21 PM CDT up reply actions

He doesn’t have MJ nor Kobe’s killer instinct.

by silverandblack_davis on Jun 9, 2011 11:22 PM CDT up reply actions

He just doesn’t WANT it? Or he’s content with second place?? I mean… how can some guys have that and some not?

by Ed (dfjmed) on Jun 9, 2011 11:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Or a post game. Honestly, this series is making me wonder how in the hell he scored all those points in every other series he has ever played.
