Purdue ICONS #14: JaJuan Johnson
Some mocks have JaJuan Johnson going to the Spurs in next week's draft. Now we all know that the Spurs will do whatever hasnt been suggested in any of the mock drafts but still. This is a nice profile on Johnson from sbnation's Purdue blog. Besides JaJuan and DeJuan could dominate the league for decades!

Good two-way player, but he’s oft criticized for being “soft”. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but it’s hard to get talent like this at 29.
Time to build a new dynasty from the ashes of the old one.
It seems from what I read thus far that he is weak. Can you be “tough” without strength? He is skilled and he comes with a decent jump shot already. He even shot 30% from the collegiate three point line. He could replace Bonner on the sad day he decides to mesmerize us.

Honestly, it would be less replace and more compliment. The problem with Bonner is the Spurs have little depth there so they not only show off his strengths, but also expose his weaknesses.

I don’t worry too much about being “soft”. Pau and LaMarcus were considered “soft” and they’ve turned out okay. Lack of talent and athleticism are a bigger concern, but he seems to have these attributes, which makes him an attractive pick at 29. Pair him up with Tiago and we may end up with a fairly good frontline combo.
