As awesome as this would be, does this mean that Pop and RC are expecting Coach Bud to be lured away?

Also interesting that we’ve been given a “one or two years” timetable for Pop’s retirement—how seriously should we take that, when he last said he’d stay through Manu and Tony’s careers (barring a trade, I suppose?)

by DrumsInTheDeep on May 13, 2011 4:51 PM CDT reply actions

Might he bring along a player or two with him? Perhaps the Spurs could pick up the rights to Ante Tomic.

by Alamo on May 13, 2011 5:04 PM CDT reply actions

Eh, Tomic was drafted by the Jazz a few years back. Not sure if they still hold his rights(I think they do).

Time to build a new dynasty from the ashes of the old one.

By “pick up the rights”, I meant making a trade for something like a future draft choice and Chris Quinn or Steve Novak . Ante may not be anxious to go to the Jazz and would just stay with Real Madrid, but joining his coach on the Spurs might be more attractive.

I mean I know WHO he is, but why would RC/Pop/Holt be interested?

With the number of good players they’ve imported from Europe, they might as well pioneer bringing successful coaches over as well.

Now we are talking. We need a couple of defensive minded ex-players too. Not to mention one or two players.

i like this, finally a good assistant coach. We haven’t got one since PJ.

For the first time, there is going to be a second goal, and that’s to do everything humanly possible to become a more elite defensive team.

IT ALL MAKE SENSE

Does he play defense? Can he hit the corner 3?

I never take the high road, but I tell other people to, that way there is more room for me on the low road.
