ORLY?

"I just want to say this for Tim Duncan: We did not tank the season so we can get the San Antonio Spurs," Hollins said. "In fact, my thought process had nothing to do with the San Antonio Spurs. It had to do with us being healthy coming into this series, whatever series it was going to be. I was only concerned about our health.

"I think Tim needed some motivation or something but if I had a choice of teams this definitely wouldn’t have been it. I would have taken Houston or something like that, that’s not in the playoffs.

"It was going to be one of those three teams that have been good all season long.

I just want Tim to know that. Tim, we weren’t seeking you out."

I almost believe them. I really do think they were more worried about keeping their slightly dinged up players healthy than avoiding LA, but I definitely think that given a choice they would rather have faced us or Dallas.

I'm a Spurs and Celtics fan. Is that a crime?

Hey Timmeh, did you read that? They’re calling you a filthy liar. Now it’s personal.

STFU Hollins. You’re just making it worse for your team.

It’s pretty funny. So, they would rather play Houston? Why not Sacramento? I am sure Timmeh will be totally unmotivated now.

I recently heard the best explanation yet of why the Grizz didn’t want to face LAL in the playoffs. And it is not necessarily because the Grizz think they have a better chance against the Spurs.

It is because that while they know they’re gonna lose in the 1st round, the last thing they want is for Pau and the Lakers to come to Memphis to knock them out, given all the crap they took for the Gasol trade. It will be much easier to face their fans after the Spurs knock them out.

Also, kinda surprised at the amount of feeling disrespected / ignored from Spursworld but if that gets you cranked for the playoffs then so be it.

Interesting theory, except for the part “they know they’re gonna lose in the 1st round.” If you don’t think you have a chance to win, then why make the effort to get to the playoffs in the first place?
