FIFA Ranks: Argentina - 4th USA - 19th
My thoughts: This is probably a much bigger deal for the US than it is for Argentina. The US will bring most of their best players in for this match as they prepare for the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup is a pretty big deal for US Soccer. The winner will get to play in the Confederations Cup and the US almost won the last Confed Cuo. I think Argentina will mostly play not to lose like they did in the 2008 draw.
Based on the rankings this shouldn't be close. Of course the US's rank is kind of ridiculous. I don't think that teams like Japan (15th), Norway (11th) and Greece (10th) are really that much better than the Red, White and Blue. Based on my own reading and opinion I think the US should be ranked around 10-12. Argentina is, of course, ranked in the top 5 and will be for a while.
