Game #70 Preview: Warriors @ Spurs
Hi there, folks. We're now 70 games into the season, and I still haven't come down from the early season high. The Spurs are still in control of the league's best record, and still on pace for their best mark ever as a franchise. With that in mind, there are still some things I'd like to see before the playoffs commence. One of those things is a good old-fashioned Spurs' defensive mauling. In fact, I'd like to see a few of those before the playoffs, just so we can be sure that the Spurs are capable of shutting down opposing offenses when it matters.
Are we likely to see one of those defensive performances tonight? I'd think not, but it would be a nice surprise. Either way, they're playing a Dubs team that's reeling after a decent start to the season, and they're probably not to happy about having to face the league's top team after getting blown out in Dallas last night. Let's kick 'em while they're down, shall we?
Superhack preview commence!

I'm just going to throw in something completely out of right field. Deal with it. :)
Let's do this.

Starters
PG: Parker needs to dominate Fisher
SG: Manu wins. The end.
SF: RJ 2.0 needs to come back in time for the playoffs. He's been missing for a while now.
PF: Udoh is a guy that doesn't fit the Dubs' style. At all. The Spurs could use a young, rangy paint defender like him, though. But Dice is pretty frakking awesome, so we'll just have to make do with him.
C: Timmeh is Timmeh.
Bench
Wow, they have a pretty turribul bench.
Coaching
Pop for COY. Not that he needs any validation.
Intangibles
The Spurs are healthy, and have the best record in the league by far. I'd say we've got this category.
Mojo
The Dubs got shellacked lastnight by the same Dallas team we beat on Friday. What a brutal SEGABABA for them.
Prediction
Spurs have got this.
Key to the Game
Crash the boards - GS is the worst defensive rebounding team in the league. We can put them out of the game early with second-chance points.

As always, NBA league pass is recommended for those who are willing to pony up the cash. Almost every Spurs game will be broadcast there, which is especially helpful for those of us who aren't in the San Antonio area.

Looking at GSW’s defensive rebounding rate and their defensive efficiency ratings, I think I know what the problem is.
The stats point to an easy win, although I’m intrigued to see how many barely-legal hits Louis Amundson puts on Ginger Spur.
Asked before the game how Parker has looked, Popovich said, "He’s still cute. "
Nothing to do with our pregame, but did any of you read the piece in the Express News about how Mark Cuban keeps his youthful appearance? Seems an old girlfriend told him to use foot cream to keep his face smooth. This could account for how many times his foot ends up in his mouth!
"Ginobili. . .He's weaving, he's throwing up triple axels in sneakers, he's willing the ball into the basket. It's Cirque du Soleil with refs." Dan Oshinsky / KENS 5

any idea who will be in the “trop vieux” list?

To anyone who is interested:
Paul was a disappointment for me since I’m more of a nerd. Anyone who enjoys the style of humor found in Step Brothers will enjoy a movie that includes tons of references to geek and nerd Alien subculture. However, the most enjoyable part of the movie for me was before Paul even showed up. After he did, the movie just crashed into a inconsequential barrage of creative swearing that Middle School kids will probably be repeating for the next 2 months.
All in all… it was a disappointment for me. Especially since Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are brilliant and didn’t need to succumb to fart jokes/different words for genitals

I love watching this Dubs team play, but not as much as I like watching this Spurs team play! Watch out for Dorrell Wright – he’s having a year from nowhere. A change of scenery must’ve been exactly what that guy needed. Watch out for Monta – he won’t lay down. And, if we can stop David Lee down low, should be an easy one. Let’s go!
Fuck it. Spurs by 30

Spurs Yoda heading to the “T” for the game tonight!!! “Ryan the temp Novak” gets at least 3 3pointers tonight!
(Just saw the Warriors get on their bus from their hotel. )
No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.
Excellent enthusiasm.
- Thank you SF Giants for an incredible 2010 season and painting the City orange & black!
- I vow to never again mention "playoffs" and "49ers" together until we have a "quarterback."

The San Antonio Spurs
DeJuan Blair will not play tonight due to a sprained left wrist. He is expected to play Wednesday in Denver.

One would think. And a good team for a tall guy to play against. I think he’ll get a double-double.

One of those things is a good old-fashioned Spurs’ defensive mauling.
We won’t see those again because the rules have changed, Bowen is gone, and TD is not that young. Our days of winning an 85-70 defensive headlock have been replaced with 102-87. And that’s okay.
This really should be a big blowout. Defend well, shoot even better, and dominate the boards. The schedule turns more difficult beginning Wednesday.

My spurs are hot, I found some kumquats to eat and it’s pouring yet the sun is out. A girl couldn’t ask for a more perfect eve. Spurs by 12, yeah sounds good!
