Tue.03.15.11 NBA-TV Fan Night Loser Thread

We got shellacked (sp?) last night. That is all. Friday's opponent plays tonight on the road. And tomorrow on the road, as well. No excuses this time.

Star-divide

We've got four games around the league tonight, including one tonight for everyone to watch on NBA-TV. Already in progress, the Atlanta Hawks host the Milwaukee Bucks. Joe Johnson is already (as of this writing) having a monster game with 28 first half points, including 6 for 8 on threes. Bonner/Neal/Manu/Kerr/RJ -esque, I tell ya. Simultaneously, the Indiana Pacers are hosting Melo, Amare' and the rest of the Knicks. The Chicago Bulls host Washington, in what is sure to be a beat down, probably similar to the one we received from the cHeat last night. And, finally, Dallas travels to Portland. Remember Lamarcus dropping 40 on us a few weeks ago? Here's betting he goes 0 for 14, with 2 rebounds and gets his shot blocked 5 times by Dirk (who probably goes for 50 and 20) while Jason Kidd has a triple double. I kid, I kid. (Really, no pun intended there.) Let's get to it.

                                                                   Milwaukee at Atlanta

                                                                   New York at Indiana

                                                                   Washington at Chicago

                                                                   Dallas at Portland

I don’t get the Blazers’ strategy on defense. Doubling Dirk before he even attempted a shot thus leaving everyone else wide open.

JaVale McGee with a triple double in a loss to Chicago tonight. 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 blocks!

12 blocks!

Seriously? Wow. Is that a modern era record?

Thats what I was thinking. I believe the all time record is 17 by a Laker in the early 70s. Elmore… someone. 12 is insane. Especially against the Chicago front line.

Denver is making out like bandits in the Carmelo trade. Los Knickerbockers lost again.

They legitimately are the one West team no one wants to face in the 1st round.

I’d pick Portland over Denver, but Denver isn’t far behind.

Denver did the best deal they could have done. If they could have kept Billups, I’d call that a steal.

It was weird seeing the Bulls players wearing green jerseys.

I was watching that and I swore it was the Celtics. Scalabrine had me all confused and shit.

Portland up 2, going into the 4th. Brandon Roy (remember him??) coming alive!

If only he could stay truly healthy. But it’ll never be, sort of like Grand Hill

Mavs lose despite shooting 60% and Dirk, Kidd and Marion playing 35+ minutes. How does that happen? They also gave up 15 offensive rebounds. Guess they got a size problem. And their first round opponent might be Portland.

Brandon Roy carried them to victory tonight. Dallas drops to 3rd in the West and Portland rises to to a tie for 6th. C-Webb predicts an upset.

Feels like it could get similar to the GS series….. should be interesting. If Dallas makes it to round 2, they likely face the Lakers on the road. They are f-ed

Yes. I really hope we get the top seed. I’d look forward to watching Dallas and LA beat eachother up. It’d be a helluva a series. Playoff Loser Threads every night for that one!

It’ll be tough for the Spurs to lose the top seed in the west (and possibly the east since they are still up by 5 losses) without just completely rolling over. Spurs schedule isn’t easy, especially in March, but they have a decent amount of winnable games.

It would be interesting, as Portland has great confidence playing Dallas. They swept the Mavs last season, and their two earlier losses in Dallas, by a combined eight points, came with almost no contribution from Roy. Aldrige gives them as many problems as he gives the Spurs. It could be a legit upset, but that means that Portland would then play LA.

Dallas has a better chance against the Lakers than Portland does, at least not having HCA. Either way Lakers will eventually make Dallas have an early than wanted summer.

Dallas is screwed. Lakers now will have the 2nd seed and Dallas will likely lose in the 2nd round (if they get there) to the Lakers.

Their match up at the end of this month is a must win for Dallas.

meh, I’m actually hoping that Dallas finishes 2nd.

I don’t think it’s happening any longer. It would be better because that series likely goes 7. Now it’s likely that Dallas gets taken by Portland to 6 or 7 games and Lakers have an easier time with HCA.

See how important is to have a number 1 seed? The lakers and mavs get to play each other, so we only have to beat one of them if we make it far.

The Grizz are going to be tough. Phoenix is one loss behind the Grizz, but losing Frye really hurts their chances of overtaking the Grizz.

It’s definitely a nicer pass through the 1/8 & 4/5 matchups.

I think the Grizz can sneak up to number 7 with the NOOCH sliding down to no. 8.

If only this was your first post in this thread. would have fit your name really well.

Perhaps, but NO just beat Phoenix. I really don’t see them dropping to the 8th seed.
